Y/N's Perspective

I thought about it for a while. Wondering why exactly she decided to let me go. She was going to kill all of us, that would've satiated the Entity. She had it.

Even after fifteen trials, it's still something I'm trying to comprehend. It's been the only time that a Killer has willingly let me go. Despite that (not that I expect to be let go), the trials have been going smoothly so far. I like to think that I've been improving with each trial that goes by. With my experience from the game in my old world, I've been able to get a hang of things pretty quickly. Not to be egotistical, but most Survivors in the Entity's realm have started to recognize me for my skills. I might even dare to say that some Killers are now starting to see me as a threat. Either from their own experience, or just by word going around.

"Agh- fuck!"

"Y/N, what the hell?!"

I was ripped from my deep internal dialogue- not deep at all actually- and got my head back into the trial I was in. I was working on a generator and completely forgot I was working on it with another Survivor: Steve Harrington. I pulled my hand back and waved it in the air- I electrocuted myself, which resulted in a little bit of a burn. Steve rolled his eyes.

"Get your head in the game, man."

"Yeah, yeah, I got it. Sorry. Just thinking about stuff."

"Yeah? Is it more important than, I dunno, getting out alive?"

"When it concerns my personal popularity, maybe-"

We chuckled about it as we focused back on the generator. It wasn't too much longer before we completed it, and it took even less time for my heart to start beating in my ears. We both looked around urgently, trying to see if there were any stray knives flying through the air in our general direction.

"You spot anything, Steve?"

"Nah, someone might be getting chased around us. We should move."

I nodded before moving with him to the closest deactivated generator I could see. Thank fuck. That was the last one.

Unsurprisingly, my heart started to beat in my ears once more. I stopped in my tracks, assessing my surroundings before a knife flew through the air- barely missing my face. I immediately got low to the ground and spotted the Trickster walking briskly towards me, knives at the ready to throw.

"Steve, get to the generator. I got this."

I turned to my left, away from the generator and began sprinting in that direction. Knowing the Trickster, he would've started to pursue me. Thankfully, he's not as fast as most Killers. I had the immediate advantage. With the distance I had on him, I could get to an area where I'd be in his reach, but not easy enough to catch. It would be enough to chase me so that the generator would be completed. Even during this situation, I had grown a habit of finding the adrenaline and exhilaration intoxicating- a smirk grew on my face as I ran around a sharp corner, occasionally checking over my shoulder to make sure he was still following me. Even then, I'd know if he stopped, as my heart rate would've gradually decreased. I turned another corner and noticed a gap in the wall with a pallet leaning against it. I diverted my path to get over there before getting to the pallet and waiting there patiently.

I checked around for the bright, neon yellow of his jacket. The moment I saw it, the Trickster began to swing his bat.

Not fast enough.

I threw down the pallet with as much force as I could, causing the Trickster to stumble during his swing. It didn't even touch me.

"You never learn, [idiot]."
