Geneviève had found an empty compartment and was reading a book she had bought over the summer, completely immersed in the pages, she didn't notice two boys open the door and ask her something.
"Are you deaf or something?" One boy snapped, pulling her out of her story.
"Sorry what?" She asked completely unfazed.
The other one sighed and gestured to the empty compartment, "Can we sit here? Since it's just you here alone?"
"Oh yea sure."
The boys walked in and sat on the opposite seat to her. "What's your name?" The one that called her deaf asked.
"Geneviève Fawley. And you?" She answered.
"Evan Rosier." There was a silence as the other boy realised he had to introduce himself.
"I'm Barty Crouch." He said eventually.
"Pleasure to meet you both." Geneviève said.
"Yea. What house are you hoping for?" Evan asked.
"Well, my entire family was in Hufflepuff. And they expect me to carry on the tradition as an only child, but I don't want to be in Hufflepuff. Nothing against them 'course, just don't think it suits me. So I'm not sure. Maybe Slytherin?"
"I know I'll be a Slytherin, I can feel it." Barty said before Evan could respond.
Evan chuckled a little, "Same. Hopefully I'll see you there Geneviève, I'm sure we could be an unstoppable trio, us three."
Geneviève laughed, "Maybe." And then she was lost in her book again as the two boys began talking.

After a few hours of travel, the sun had set and the castle lights could be seen in the distance.
"Wow. It's better than the books I read." Geneviève muttered.
"It's totally awesome." Barty gasped.
"Come on you two, we need to get off the train, and I don't know? Go inside the castle?" Evan said sarcastically as he grabbed Genevièves arm and lightly pulled.
"K."
"First 'ears dis way please! First 'ears!" A voice called over the crowd. As the trio looked, a rather tall man stood waving his hand around.
Evan looked at her and raised his eyebrows as if to say, 'really? A giant?' Which only made Geneviève giggle.
"Let's go. Don't want to miss the boats."
"Four a boat please. Only four."
Evan, Barty and Geneviève hopped in one and we're soon joined by a boy with very greasy hair and a girl with bright red hair followed behind him.
"Get out girl. I'll ride in here and you can go with Lily over there." He said pointing the girl behind him.
"I was here first, you go sit with her." She snapped.
"Do as I say or I'll he'd you." He pulled out a wand and aimed it at her threateningly.
"Oo, so scary." She mocked, but stood up anyway, the girl looked nice enough.
The two girls walked and found a boat that was only occupied by two other boys. One of which she recognised. Lily didn't seem pleased that that was the only boat left.
