Geneviève sat down in their usual carriage and waited for the others to arrive.
"Reg!" She exclaimed as the boy came into view.
"And his brothers friends..." She trailed off as the other boys stood behind him.
"I tried to get them away but they wouldn't leave." He rolled his eyes at his friends.
"Well if you insist on keeping such awful company I have to make sure you get there alive than don't I?" Sirius snapped at Regulus.
"They aren't awful! Much better than you'll ever be at least." Regulus fought back.
"He's here safely, you can all go now." Geneviève shooed them out of the door.
"In warning you Fawley, don't put your dumb beliefs in his head." Sirius hissed as he left.
The four boys that called themselves the 'Marauders' walked down the hallway, and out of sight, briefly bumping into Barty and Evan.
"Were they in here?" Evan asked as he entered the carriage.
"Yea. But I took care of them." Gen smirked.
"Of course. But Prefects meeting, remember?" He reminded her.
"You two got Prefect?" Barty exclaimed at the same time Regulus said,
"How the fuck did you manage that?"
"No idea. I think I might try get it revoked though." Geneviève shrugged as she left.
Evan and Geneviève walked down the halls and into the Prefect carriage, where they came face to face with Remus Lupin and Lily Evans. Also wearing badges.
"You two got it?" Lupin asked with humour in his voice.
"I could say the same about you Lupin. With all those pranks you get involved in." Gen smirked.
Remus and Geneviève were friends. Ish. Remus is the reason Geneviève passed muggle studies in fourth year, and ever since she confronted him about his furry problem, they had been on good terms.
After Evan and Barty met Regulus and Geneviève, they tried there best to unlearn all the prejudiced ways they had been brought up in, and we're doing an excellent job at it. Occasionally the accidental slip up in speech happened, but they always knew they didn't really mean it. It was all great, except everyone else in school thought they were all stuck up pricks with the beliefs muggle-borns were lesser than themselves. That's why they avoided anyone that wasn't in there tight knit friend group. Everyone except Pandora Malfoy, who was a Ravenclaw and understood the Slytherins quite well.
"This year's going to be interesting than isn't it?" Remus laughed.
"Oh definitely." Geneviève agreed.
The head girl sat everyone down and the meeting begun.
-
"That was the most boring hour of my life." Evan complained as they left the Prefect carriage.
"I know. I'm going to go beg Sluggy to take my badge back if I have to do that ever again!"
The duo passed Sirius and James who were leaning against a wall, obviously waiting for Remus.
"Gen!" Remus called, trying to catch up to them.
As he ran passed James and Sirius, who were left with their jaws on the floor, Geneviève turned.
"You left this in the carriage. You probably need it if you want to not get caught doing whatever you do after curfew." Remus smirked, handing her the patrol timetable.
"Thanks Lupin. If I get caught I'll lie my way out, like always." She smirked back at him.
They said their goodbyes and left. Evan and Geneviève that is. Back with them three of four of the Marauders, poor Remus was being bombed with questions.
"Since when were you and Fawley friends?"
"Did you hookup?"
"Did she poison you?"
"Love potion?"
"Imperious curse!?"
"Does she know about your, ya know, problem?"
Remus ran a hand down his face before opening his mouth to answer all the questions. "Since third year. No. No. No. Definitely not! Yes, she does."
"SHE KNOWS!?" James and Sirius screeched.
"Yea. Figured it out second year. Confronted me third. Friends ever since. Promised not to tell anyone, not even Rosier, and as far as I'm aware, she hasn't." Remus shrugged.
"You know what Slytherins think about that stuff. I find it hard to believe she just accepted it." Sirius scoffed.
"She was raised by Hufflepuffs remember? And besides, her cousins a werewolf. Everyone knows it. She's registered at the ministry and everything. And just because she's in Slytherin doesn't mean she's like that!" Remus found himself defending his friend fiercely.
"Yea, he's got a point. When was the last time you've heard her say anything bad about a muggle-born? Or a half-blood? And it seems Rosier and Crouch don't say anything either." Peter popped out of no where.
Both Sirius and James thought hard about it. It was clear from the frustration lines on their foreheads they couldn't remember a single time.
"Well-"
"They might say it in private!" James accused.
"But you can't prove it, can you?" Remus asked.
"No. But we'll sneak into the Slytherin common-room. Pull a prank, get our evidence. Double win." Sirius suggested.
"Fine. But if we get caught, its all your fault. And if she doesn't say anything, you both owe me five galleons."
"Fine." Both James and Sirius stuck out there hands for a handshake.
"Bet she won't." Remus muttered.
"Well than your naiver than a snail Remus. Because she does."
"Well see."
