Chapter 3 The Escape

I'm so angry they shouldn't just do that such jerks, we were so happy when we found out about this and now look at us back we started some shit load of shit.
"I've got Idea, but we'll have to work together for it to work" Oscar says Half whispering

I sit in my room packing. At 9:00 I get out of this room by 9:20 I'm out of this school. I cheek my watch it's 8:43 pm. Dam still another 17 minutes. I Grab my brown leather bag chucking my Journal and a pen inside.
Blue shorts with an Orange top perfect I think to myself it's not the best for camouflaging, but don't judge me for that, I don't own black clothes.
I grab my pack bag that was black probably the only thing black I actually owned. I Shoved my leather bag inside, and grabbed my brush, makeup and clothes, you never know who could you meet. I laugh to myself

I check my watch 9:00 ok time to go I think to myself. I grab my bag and head to the window I open it the window to receive stones to my face.
"Ow" I say I put my hands up in the air trying to shield my face the stones stop. I look down to find Ash and Sim looking at me with the sorry face.
I throw my bag at Sim angrily making him fall over with the my bag and climb down to the ground
"Sorry about that" ash whispers
"it's okay" I say sarcastically I grab my bag from Sim and we run over to ambers window this time she is already on the ground waiting for us.

We head to the fence it was hard to see see the moon was covered by a big black clouds but there was some stars shining making a little bit of light.
I get a good grip of the fence, and climb over with Ash, Amber and Sim following behind.
"Where's Oscar?" Amber whispers
"over here" we look around to see Oscar with the Land Rover
"what's the Land Rover doing here" I question "weren't we going to walk?"
"We need it for a little while then we can walk the rest of the way" Sim says filling me in.

We shuck our bags into the back. I get into the car, ute, truck, whatever you call it and shut the door behind me. Amber, Ash, Sim, Oscar and I finally where getting out of here. I wake up, I must have fallen asleep, I look up to see the Land Rover roof rocking around we where still driving, I sit up and look out the window where in the forest I can't even see the road. I turn my gaze to Amber, Ash and Sim still sleeping.
"Good morning" Oscar says looking in his revision mirror at me.
"Morning" I whisper trying not to wake up everyone else.
"We have been driving for along time, are we there yet?" I question still whispering
"Yes we are here now" he says making the Land Rover come to a Hoult. He turns around to face to me
"Should we wake them up?" I question making my voice a little louder than a whisper
"Yeah I think they have had enough sleep, anymore and they will over sleep" he says. Oscar grabs a map book in front of him and whacks Sim over the head with it.
"Ow" Sim shouts looking up in a great rush
"What the fuck was that for?" He shouts waking everyone up.
"I had to wake you up" Oscar says putting the book back where it came from.
"See how you like it, when you get hit with a book" Sim says angrily grabbing the book and hitting Oscar on the head with it more than once, Ash and Amber sit up.
"Well this is a weird sight to see when you wake up" Ash says trying to brush his hair with his hand, but it seriously didn't make a scrap of difference. Amber looks up she was about to say something, but I cut her off.
"Don't ask" I say shaking my head.

We walk out of the Rover and grab our bags with Sim and Oscar well separated we don't want another fight going on.
"You lead the way" I say to Oscar
He nods and starts to walk deeper into the forest.

We walk for along time possibly an hour I started to feel a little hungry but I don't complain.
"Can we have breakfast" Amber says reading my mind
"Yeah that's a good idea" Oscar says sitting down on a near by tree that had fallen.
"Who asked you" Amber says crossly
"I'll make something up, I say cheerfully dropping my bag on the ground. I go over to Sim who has the food bag. He takes it of his shoulders and hands it to me.
"Ahh" I say trying to carry it,
"What the fuck, how much food is in here" I shout dropping the bag on the ground.
"I got a lot they have a lot in the school kitchen, it's boarding school where talking about" Sim says grabbing the bag back of me.
"Where do you want it" he questions I point to a near by tree and he props it up on a branch.
"Thanks" I say in relief, I really did not want to carry the bag. I make the bag expand.
"Hmmm" I mumble to myself
"who wants fruit?, we have mangos, watermelons, and apples" I say turning around to the others. We all pick our fruits and sit down on a fallen tree with Amber and Oscar.

"We better get moving" I say getting up and chucking my mango seed into near by bushes.
We all start to walk again.

It felt like my legs were going to buckle from under me. We come to a stop finally.
"Please say we are there" I say putting my hands on my head.
"I don't think I can take much more walking" Amber says in agreement
"Where here" Oscar says pointing at a long armed tree
"What the fuck, this is it" Amber say angrily
"Follow me" Oscar says climbing up the tree. We get to the centre of the tree where all the branches part way. I look around at the surroundings. Oscar was right this place was truly better than Heaven Steps. The sun caught my eyes making me look the opposite way to see, the forest trees looking dark and mysterious some taken over by moss others taken over by Ivy, they sort of reminded me of people, I shrugged the creepy feeling off. I turn my gaze back to the trees, I see a shadow but shake it off and look back to the tree we where standing on.

"Ok, on the count of three I want everyone to pull on this handle" Oscar says whispering. We kneel down grabbing the giant handle.
"One..."
"Two..."
"Three..."
We all heave on the handle making the moss covering the door detach.
The round mossy door swings open.
"Welcome" Oscar says throwing his hands to the trapdoor. I jump in first, I was really excited. The place was part of the tree it was true magnificent sight. I walk around in circles looking at the big roots making tables and chairs as wait for the others to jump down the trap door as you would call it.
"Wow" Ash says jumping down beside me.
"Ok, I officially don't know where we are and how the hell is this tree possible" Amber says touching the root table
"Ok, let me fill you in, we are in a forest called minty springs it's a huge place you can easily get lost, and this is where lots of people lived.." he says trailing off
"Easily get lost?" I say in shock
"Someone lived out here?" Sim says adding on
"Don't worry I know this place inside out, and yes" he continues "this is where someone lived ok here's a little fantasy talk who knows if it's true or not, back in the day there was a village of people like us like me and you" Oscar says nodding at Amber and Sim
"Like humans?" Ash says putting his bag on the floor well root floor.
"Yes very much so, but they where different they had to have been know one really knows" Oscar says reaching up and shutting the trap door.
"What happened" I say softly a little scared
"They just......" Oscar mumbles
"What!" Ash and I say said together
"Turned into trees" he says trailing off
