The Portal Through Time

Narrator: As the three girls approached closer to the purple and blue shimmering portal, the power surged through them. "I wonder where this leads to....." Jane said, walking around and observing the portal closer. "Hm... Maybe..... OH OH OH! MAYBE IT LEADS TO CHINA!" Liv exclaimed, jumping up and down excitedly. Once again, Sam facepalmed, shaking her head. "Oh child.... What has the doctor put you on?" She mumbled, staring at Liv wondering. "Why would you even say that?" Jane asked, gazing at Liv who seemed like she was about to burst. "Look at all the boxes! They all say 'Made in China' so maybe they came from China." Liv replied, sounding proud of herself. Sam sighed as she tightened the strap around her shoulder which carried her blade. "I guess there's only one way to find out." She said simply while stepping into the portal. The other two followed in, and before they knew it they sat in the middle of a busy intersection. Sam stood and looked around, staring at the busy streets and rushing people. Jane looked up at the enormous tower. "We're in Shanghai." Sam interrupted before Jane could say. "Which means.... Liv was right. We are in China." Jane said, looking at Liv who was gazing around happily. "OOOOHHHHH!!!!! GET REKT!" Liv screamed at her two friends. People around them turned and stared, making things quiet odd. As things went back to reality, head lights blazed in their faces and a loud horn blared. As the three girls turned their heads, a semi was coming straight at them 60 MPH. "Guys look out!" Sam quickly sprinted, grabbed both of her friends under her arms and dove to the side. While doing so, Sam dropped her friends to the sidewalk and was unable to slow down. She slammed into the side bridge and flipped over it, loosing her balance and plummeting over 100ft into the cold winter water beneath them. Jane and Liv both hurried to the side where they stared down in horror, not seeing any trace of their friend. "SAM!" Jane yelped.
