Prologue - Part 2

Sam's pov:

I was sitting, and watching that brunette haired boy eat. "So what's your name?" I asked suddenly out of the silence.
"I- my name is C-Colby." he stuttered and continued to eat.

He looked hungry and tired. Of course he did, he told my mom what his parents did to him.

-time skip-

He finished eating and stood up, and thanked us. He went towards the door, until my mom told him he could stay.
"Colby? You can stay if you'd like." she said looking at him.
"Ar-are you sure?" He said shyly.
"Yes I'm sure. But do you have school nearby?" She asked "Yes, it's just down the block." he said as I smiled.

"Oh that's the same school where Sam is going to." She said as he sat silently next to me.

"Well you can borrow a backpack from me." I said smiling as he smiled.
"Aww that's sweet my Sammy boy." She said.

"Thank you." He said still smiling.
"Well let me get it for you then." I said and stood up and went upstairs.

I was looking for my old backpack, when I heard the doorbell.
Then I heard voices downstairs, it wasn't so loud so I couldn't hear it fully.

"Well there you are Colby." someone said. "H-hi mother." I could hear Colby say. I went downstairs as I held onto the backpack. I saw a brunette haired lady in the doorway. She was quite tall.

"Why did you run away boy?!" Colby's mom yelled a little too much.
"I d-didn't I swear I was just going over to my friend house." he said as I came over to the door.

"Hi I'm Sam." I said giving my hand.
"Hey, so you are the 'friend?'" She asked leaning her hand up on the railing of the door.

She gripped my hand really tight.
"Yes I am." I said as I got my hand back.
She acted sweet but inside I knew she was a real bitch.

I stood there just smiling while my mom talked "Well can he be over for dinner?" She said as she also smiled quickly.
"Yes he can, BUT! he have to be home by 8'o'clock is that clear?!" She practically yelled. "Well yes he will. I will get him home safe." My mom said not yelling like that angry bitch.

She left our porch and went to her car and started the car to drive it. Colby was looking down to the floor tearing quietly. 
I looked at him and hugged him, "hey it's okay. I will be here for you. Do you want to be friends?" I said simper, "do you really want to?" The brunette boy asked still crying a little, "yes I will. I will always be there for you. Here let me give you my number." I said as he took out he's phone.

Mom went to make dinner as me and my new best friend Colby and I went upstairs to my room and played Mario kart.

"Food is ready boys!" My mom yelled to call us. We went downstairs to the smell, and it smelled so delicious. It was Spaghetti Carbonara it's my favorite.

-time skip-

I was following Colby home and he actually only live one row from me. I walked him to his front door and said goodbye. He walked inside and closed the door, I stayed a little longer to eavesdrop. I couldn't stop, so I sat down on the chair and heard he's mom yell and a glass hit on a wall. It sounded serious so I began cry to run home.

I went home and ran inside while crying so I want to the kitchen and saw my mom sitting and playing some game on her iPad.

"Mommy?" I said as I trembled on the kitchen floor. "Yeah baby?" She said as she looked up from her iPad "I was just saying bye to Colby right? And then he wen inside to his mom and dad and then I stayed a little longer outside and heard glass and yelling. I think Colby is in trouble mommy!!" I yelled slightly and very fast "oh my lord. Well let's go over there fast." She said standing up turning off her phone.
