Tenochtitlan

Ever since the wedding Druig and I started dating. I knew about his doubts in Ajak and Arishem. So that's why lately we've been fighting a lot and been really distant. Just before we went to this town we had another fight.

The town was burning and people were fighting. I walked back over to ajak. "Where are the others?" She asked. "We had to split up" Makkari signed. "There were more deviants than you said" Then said emotionless. "Well I'm sure that was a lot of fun for you" Phastos said. "It was" she replied with a smile. Then Phastos showed us the globe "once the others kill these last deviant we will have eliminated them all from the planet." He said. We heard gunshots and people screaming. We looked over and saw people fighting.

Druig started to mind control them but Ajak told him not to. "We don't interfere with their wars" she said. "This isn't war. It's genocide. Their weapons have become too deally. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea helping them advance, phastos. " he said. "Druig" I warned him and he gave me a look. "Technology is a part of their evolutionary process, druig. It's not exactly something i can stop." phastos defended himself.

"No you can't. But I can" druig said. "It's too late" thena said in some kind of trance. "Everyone is going to die" then her eyes turned white. "Are you okay?" I asked walking over to her. Then a spear appeared in her hand and she started to attacked me. Makkrai quickly saved me. Then thena started to fight everyone.

She stabbed makkari and I quickly ran over to help her. Then Ajak walked over to heal makkari. Then gilgamesh knocked her out. We layed her on a table.

"I thought mahd wy'ry was a myth" sersi said. "There is no cure so no one really talks about it" Phastos said while Ajak healed him. Then Thena woke up gasping. "What happened?" She asked. "Thena, you attacked everyone. Wounded sersi, phastos, you nearly killed makkari." Ajak explained. "I don't remember." Thena said looking panicked. "You have Mbad wy'ry. Your mind is fracturing under the weight of your memories. And all I can do is erase them so that you can start over. I will have to inform arishem and take you back to the ship where we have the technology to help you" Ajak explained.

"But the wouldn't be thena anymore" makkari signed. "What if it happens again ? She could've killed you. She could've killed all of us." Kingo said. "Please. I want to remember. I want to remember my life." Thena said with tears in her eyes. "Thena, I love you. But listen to me. It's not important if you remember or not. Your spirit will remain. You will always be thena deep inside. Trust me" Ajak said.

"Why should she trust you? You're asking her to let you erase who she is." Druig said. "Druig, I know you're upset" Ajak tried. "Upset?!" He shouted interrupting her. "We've trusted you for 7,000 years, and look where you've gotten us. I've watched humans destroy each other when I could stop it all in a heart beat. You know what that does to someone after centuries?" He asked with a breaking voice and tears. I felt my heart break.

"Could our mission have been a mistake? Are we really helping these people build a better world, huh?" He continued and turned away looking at the people. "We're just like the soldiers down there. Pawns to their leaders. Blinded by loyalty. It ends now" he said mind controlling them. Then ikaris stepped up. "Let them go" he said pulling druig back. "You're gonna have to make me" druig replied. "Stop" Ajak said walking up to them. "If you want to stop me, you're gonna have to kill me" druig said. He started to walk away. I wanted to go after him but kingo held me back. "Let me go I want to go with him" I said but he didn't listen. And with that it was too late.

"I'll watch over thena. Let her keep her memories" Gil said. "One day when she attacks you, you might have to kill her" Ajak said. "We'll take that chance" he said.

"You may all go." Ajak said after a bit of silence. "Deviants are gone. There is no reason for you to stay with me" "shouldn't we ask arishem first? We're a team we should stay together" ikaris said. "I didn't ask for your advice ikaris. Do not forget your place. This is where we say goodbye you are free to go. I want you to go out there and live a life for yourselves. Not as soldiers not with the purpose you were given. Find your own purpose and one day when we see each other again I want you to tell me what you found" she finished. And with that everyone left.

Present day

I was working in the restaurant when there was a big earthquake and I knew this wasn't good. When I was done with my shift I walked back to my apartment watching some tv. Waiting for disaster to happen.
