Because of El leaving, Max grows sadder and more distant with the rest of the kids in Hawkins. The only person she ever really talks to is Benny, but it's only a short conversation.
Like every year in Hawkins, a new monster is introduced, and this time, he targets the person that Benny fears to lose the most.
