My eyes began to hurt slightly as the first few rays of the evening sun began to fill the unfriendly environment that was the cafe, the place I worked at. Practically every day for a year now. It had been a long boring shift, there weren't many customers, though that was normal since it was a normal monday. As i stared into distance, lost in thoughts an annoying voice brought me back to reality:

"Miss? Hello miss? I want another latte."

A middle aged lady who was a little thicker sided was aggressively trying to get my attention. I looked over and gave her a rather annoyed look. "It's sir.. a latte you said?"

The woman looked offended. "Sir? Well I am so so sorry for misgendering you or however you kids call it these days! You are obviously a young woman!" At this point she was practically yelling. 'Only one hour left and this is the time I get a Karen as a customer?' I thought to myself. I sighed and opened my mouth to answer: " Well ma'am.. I can assure you I am a man and was born as one. So, one latte was it? To go or would you like to drink it here?" I tried to stay calm and not raise my voice. The woman started grinning and her yellow unaligned teeth started to show. "Well I. I view you as a woman, you portray traits of a woman so it's only fair I'm confused though I'm starting to think you are the confused one here." At this point i was not having her bullshit anymore. "Well ma'am, i am so sorry for the confusion, now would you please just call me sir and i'll go make you you're latte, which is 3,20 by the.." She didn't even let me finish: "You, young girl are being very rude, i do not feel comfortable.." She began yelling and i honestly wanted to simply sink through the ground right then and there. I was close to giving up trying when a girl stood up and patted the rude customer on the shoulder. She wasn't tall, not much taller than the oversized woman. Though she was noticeably more slender then Karen. She had deep dark green curly hair, obviously dyed, you could slightly see her own hair colour since her roots were showing slightly. A black spikey septum was hanging from her nose and she had a slit in her left eyebrow. "Hey miss Karen. Could you get over your rude self and have some dignity and just call this not unattractive young man a sir." She said in the most fake respectful way i'd heard in forever. The woman was too stunned to speak, only for a second though. The karen opened her mouth to say something but the girl was quicker : "And before you say anything else completely and utterly foolish i'd advise you to simply listen to me." a slight grin appeared from her lips. The Karen this time opened her mouth with a resilient look and started yelling : "You are the very reason why i hate the kids nowadays, isn't it obvious he's a girl?! He Is Wearing An Earring!" The Karen was absolutely frantic. "Yes he is, i am so beyond glad the sweet lord has given you eyes with which you are able to see and observe, I am less glad in the other hand lovely god up there has given you a mouth too, and way too loud of a voice too for that matter." The girl was not so fake polite anymore, an angry frown had appeared on her face. The Karen however wasn't willing to give up just yet and again tried to get another word out of that mouth that was so wide you started to wonder whether or not she tried swallowing her fists on a daily basis. The girl though, had run out of patience and threw her arms in the air while screaming "OH WOMAN WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING ANOTHER HORRID SOUND!" The Karen, now slightly frightened, abruptly closed her mouth, scoffed, gave me one more filthy look and barged out of the cafe.
