Chapter 11

It had been a week since Nick and Charlie's beach date, along with them both telling their parents, and exam season had started. Ash still was yet to tell Charlie about Harry, the breakdowns hadn't gotten any better either, not that the others knew. For all they could tell, she was fine. Their mother was currently signing the forms for them to go on the trip to France and then they headed to school, Charlie had a mock exam whilst Ash went to the music room.
" Ah, Miss Spring, here to record?" Mr Parsh asked her.
" Yeah."
" You know this needs to be finished by the end of this week, you only have a few days left to finish it."
" I know, I know, I just have to find the best song to use. Singing isn't easy."
" You are telling me that as if I don't know." He commented, it was funny since he used to do opera singing.
" Ha ha sir, you crack me up."
" Well, I will let you use the recording room, please bare in mind I do have a class."
" Yes sir."
The school was being more relaxed with the rules for the 10's and 11's, they were being allowed to miss lessons to study. Year 11's would be on study leave whilst year 10's were stuck in school still.
" It sucks, you don't have to come in after Wednesday!" Ash complained to Nick, Charlie laughed at his sister.
" Sorry?" Nick apologised also laughing.
" How's music going?" Charlie asked her," It's gotta be in on Friday."
" I know! Parsh reminded me this morning. I just can't find a song to do. I was going to go for girl in red but I just didn't feel it, panic at the disco is normally my saviour but no!"
" Well you need to hurry!"
" I know Charlie." Ash said, resting her head on her arms.
Tao and Aled walked over to see them.
" Ash, you dead?"
" If I was, you wouldn't be at the funeral."
" Why?"
" Cause you would be dead first."
" Ouch, what have I done?!"
" Disturbed her moping." Nick told him.
" I hate all of you." She mumbled into her sleeve.
" So, what did you chose to do for your music piece?" Aled asked her innocently to be met with a death stare.
" The next person to ask me that will be hit."
" Sorry!" Aled responded with quickly.
" It's fine, but please, focus on yourselves, I just need the song and I'm set, I'll have one by the end of the day."
" If you say so," Charlie said to her.
Ash was very wrong, if anything she still had nothing, even worse she was out of songs she regularly listened too. She wouldn't be able to do anything 'til tomorrow now because she was stuck going to the France trip evening for parents. It wasn't all bad though, she got to see her Higgs friends, being Tara Jones, Darcy Olsson and Elle Argent. The evening basically gave them information on it and allowed them to pick people to be in rooms with. Ash put down the three Higgs girls. For obvious reasons, plus if Ash started struggling she had Elle to help. As the evening continued Ash had given up on her search for songs so she started talking to the year 13's she knew.

A- Freya, Jele, Sophia? Anyone?

J- Ash? Hey!

S- Whats up?

A- Not much just failing at music, anyone got any recommendations?

F- Uh, Girl in red?

A- Done that and panic at the disco, none of the songs felt right.

J- I mean, I listen to Katy Perry, I know she is a common choice but loads of her songs are amazing, maybe one of those could work?

A- Huh, ok, thanks

S- Oh yeah, her songs are great!

A- I'll look into it, thanks guys, talk later.

They all said bye and Ash turned on some songs she hadn't listened to before, to be honest the only one she had listen to was California girls, they weren't wrong, her music was good, Ash eventually fell asleep to it, playing over and over again.
