"Found it then, did you?" Oliver said once he could tell Elio had finished reading. Elio jumped slightly at the sudden words.
"This is cool" Elio said, acting as though it was actually about work, and as if he found it very interesting, like a new discovery.
"What do you think?" Oliver smiled, sitting next to him on the bed. He picked up his orange juice and took a mouthful.
"I think," Elio replied, "I think you should finish it."
Oliver put his glass down and looked at Elio in a way that said 'what do you mean?' his mouth still full of orange juice.
"Is it what falling in love feels like? Is it your destiny? Good stories are never unfinished. So, go on. Finish it." Elio smiled, handing Oliver the notebook.
"I don't have a pen" Oliver said, tapping his pockets, feeling for a pen he knew he didn't have.
"Okay, well, how would it end?" Elio asked, pulling his legs up so he was sat cross-legged facing Oliver.
"Yes." All Oliver said at first was yes.
"Elaborate " Elio responded.
"Something like: I can now confirm that I was in-fact falling in love, and I've fallen in love more and more every day since that first day in Northern Italy. My eyes met this beautiful boy, I didn't understand at first but shortly I learnt, I learnt that this boy was my destiny. I was a fool and ran away from it for a while, but I couldn't stay away. I came back, and rightfully he avoided my attempt to regain his trust, love and affection. But now, now we both realise that it'll be us, only us, forever and always."
He turned to Elio and couldn't help but laugh. He pulled his shirt over his thumb and wiped away the tear falling down Elio's face. Elio giggled softly.
"Sorry" he sniffed.
"Don't be" Oliver smiled at him in awe. "I know you love me. I've known how desperate you were for more since I found you on the mattress with-" but before he could continue he was cut off.
"That's the only thing I hoped you would've forgotten!" Elio exclaimed. Oliver laughed and pulled him into a hug.
"Don't need a peach anymore, you have me now, forever" he smirked. Elio groaned and rolled his eyes. "You know you want that too" Oliver continued, swaying slightly.
"Stop!" Elio laughed, collapsing onto the bed.
"Hmmmmm" Oliver rubbed his chin, pretending to think. "No" he chuckled.
Elio pulled him down and flipped them over so he was laid on top of Oliver. "Asshole" he muttered, before yet again leaning in to kiss him.
