The Tennis Hemisphere, as it's usually called, is a plane watched over by two deities, whom nobody from the outside world is conscious of. A vast copy of the Megalopolis Hemisphere, but run down and taken over by vegetation.
The two deities decided to compete with each other, forming two teams of thousands of robots to compete in a vast competitive game of tennis. But for some, this was a heavy workload.
Under the scorching August sun, a young robot girl slumped over the vast meadow of baby blue eyes. Her back was hunched, having walked thousands of miles away from the tennis field. She wanted to get away from the noise for good.
The weather wasn't very kind to her, however. The sun hit her like a pile of bricks, as if she was being covered in flames. It was exhausting.
But anything was better than being there.
...
A grassy slump echoed through, the poor girl having overheated. She had fell on a flowerbed of baby blue eyes.
A few hours had passed, and mild rainfall washed over the lands. The pitter-patter of the raindrops was heard throughout the small field of azure flowers.
A robot man, from the same faction as the girl, was wheeling through the meadow, a handmade umbrella in hand. He looked over as he saw what seemed to be another living being in the flowers. He wheeled over the azure patch and ran his hand through it, revealing the half-conscious body of the robot girl.
He carefully hoisted her up and carried her on his shoulder, wheeling her over to a decrepit apartment complex. He placed her on an overgrown couch, making sure she was unharmed.
"...ah...?"
"Can you hear me?"
"...where...am..."
"You're in a safe place now. They can't find you here."
She rubbed her eyes, looking at her supposed savior.
"Who are you...?"
He kneeled down to her level.
"I go by KT-Hajay 047. Just call me 'Hajay'. I saw that you were passed out on a small flowerbed near the premises. Is everything alright?"
She shook her head.
"I think i blacked out or something...the heat was unbearable."
"Ah. You overheated. Now, if you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"
"I think it was something like...Dansuki? Yeah, that...i think."
Hajay took Dansuki's hand and shook it lightly.
"Nice to meet'cha, Dansuki."
He sat next to her, holding her hand and making sure she got her strenght back little by little. After several minutes, she managed to get up without needing help.
"What are we gonna do now? Are we gonna go back?"
"Wait, wait. I wanna show you something."
Hajay grabbed Dansuki's hand and went on one of the ramps leading to the top floor. There was a small bunker with an upper window and telescope, dotted with small star decorations, both in yellow and blue, and books about astronomy and the universe. On the right wall was a map of the solar system and the milky way, tacked on with blue star-shaped pins and sticky notes.
"This is a friend of mine's hideout."
Dansuki, intrigued, brushed her fingertips on the spyglass, then sheepishly peeked through it.
Through the telescope glass what could be seen as an aerial ecosystem of its own. Small beings that resembled birds rested on the blue and purple rings of small and big cobalt and grape colored hexahedrons that floated throughout the star studded crepuscule sky. A ten-pointed star could clearly be seen, coated in an iridescence that wouldn't be physically possible in the human world.
It was the prettiest thing she had ever seen, ever.
"They say it only comes around every 100 years. They call it the 'Anancite Angel'."
"I've...never seen such a thing. I've never really traveled outside of the tennis tracks..."
"I know a lot about the plane. I've been traveling around since i was created...do you perhaps wanna become my traveling companion?"
Dansuki was taken aback. She finally had a chance to travel to faraway lands, leaving behind the stress of competition. She grabbed Hajay's hand...
"Yeah...Yeah, i do."
Hajay nodded, visibly content.
"Got it, then. Let's stay here 'till nightfall, then we'll set off. Sounds good?"
"Mhm."
The two sat down leaning on the wall, holding each other's hands. Dansuki slightly leaned on Hajay's shoulder, resting her head on it, feeling a strange sense of security in his presence.
