Today was a free day, where all the robots from both teams could do whatever they want, as long as it didn't go against the gods' code of conduct. Hajay was walking to his bunker when Dansuki came up and approached him, placing her hand on his shoulder.
"I think i found a place to go in with you!"
Hajay nearly tripped and fell, but managed to keep his composure and turn around.
"Ah- Err.. Where do you wanna go?"
"I've heard word going around about this place called 'Dragonspine Falls'! And, well....i wanna go there with you!"
Hajay felt as if an arrow from a deity of love pierced his very core. This was the first time he was actually invited to go somewhere, and it was by someone he genuinely cared about no less. A floodgate of thoughts opened in his mind as he stood there, stunned.
Dansuki waved her hand in front of him.
"Hellooo? Earth to Hajay?"
He snapped back to reality and shook his head, nearly losing his balance.
"Wah- Uh... Sorry about that. I was just... a little surprised."
"Heeeyyy, no worries! All's good and well. The problem is how to get there though..."
"We could take one of those automated trains to get there? That's how i always got to Dragonspine. It's pretty comfy."
"For realsies?!"
"Mhm. They're a bit...overgrown, but that shouldn't be a big issue."
"Let's go then!"
They ran into the fields, looking for the nearest station. They walked in the vast fields of larkspurs and poorman's weatherglasses, using the traffic signs that sprouted out of the ground as a means of orientation. They finally found a station, a massive, cluster-esque lamp sprouting high on the ground near the bench.
There was an arch formation at the small station, covered in a cobalt and magenta flower print that emitted a faint glow.
The pair sat down on the mossy bench, waiting patiently, hand in hand.
Soon enough, the train rolled around. It was covered in herbs and flowers, ranging from pale whites to vibrant rainbows. Some shapes and small artifacts were attached to it, almost clipping through its walls. It was also coated in incomprehensible writing and graffiti.
The pair entered the train, navigating through to find a place to sit in. Each cabin was filled with humanoid, shadow-like entities, seemingly not alive, yet not dead.
They found a small, empty room with one of the cabins, and entered and sat in it. They looked at the window, watching the flowers, signs and geometric monoliths pass by, and the small polygonal animals prancing in circular wavelike formations.
The trip to Dragonspine would be a long one. It takes an entire day to go there by train.
Soon enough, Hajay was holding a passed-out Dansuki, making sure to move as little as he could to not startle her awake. He gently stroked the palm of her hand with his thumb, finding comfort in her presence.
The sun was setting, and a ring of gold light enveloped the sky as shapes in the sky started changing their appearances and trajectories.
As the sun was going down and the sky was turning indigo, the small flowers in the cabin swayed as the train moved and went through bumps. Hajay occasionally hoisted up Dansuki, letting her rest on his shoulder without falling off.
After a long dusk and after the moon had come up from the sky, the train stopped right at Dragonspine's footing. Hajay gently shook Dansuki awake and led her out of the train, holding her hand tightly.
As they stepped out, they saw Dragonspine in its entirety, the mountains going up to the skies themselves, piercing the clouds.
They walked slowly, taking in the bottom view. They ran their hands over the rocky walls, feeling the dragon scale-esque texture. Dragonspine Falls was just around the corner.
Walking through seas of blue flowers, they came across the waterfalls in its entirety. Blue gemstones were embedded in the mountains' walls and iridescent water roared throughout the area.
Dansuki grabbed Hajay's hand and ran over to a part of the waterfall's river. Small blue gemstones were scattered at the river's borders, emitting an azure, pearlescent glow. Dansuki picked up one of the small stones and, albeit a little hesitantly, gave it to Hajay.
"It's...It's a gift of gratitude! I...I'm really glad i got to go on these adventures with you."
Hajay felt his face heat up once again as he took the small stone.
"I...I- Thank you. I lo- I'm glad you feel that way."
The two looked at each other for a bit, a lovey tension in the air.
"There's a small cave behind the big waterfall...do you wanna go there with me for a bit?"
"W-Well of course!"
The pair, hand in hand, navigated to the center of the falls. They were careful as to not get soaked under the roaring waters, until they squeezed through the center waterfall.
Behind it was a large cave filled with shining blue crystals and flowers growing out of every part. The pair, awestruck, walked through it, watching their step on the crystalline floor.
Iridescent lights bounced off of the walls, an azure glow radiating from the premises. The drooping light blue flowers swayed gently.
Soon enough, the cave ended. At its deepest point, there was a huge tree-like cluster of flowers, ranging from light blue, to cobalt blue, to dark blue. There was a layer of grass throughout the place, small crystals prodding from the ground.
The pair sat down by the cluster, Dansuki once again resting her head on Hajay's shoulder. He smiled, wrapping an arm around her and keeping her close and safe. In his hand he still held the small gem she gave him, clenching it tight.
He lightly nuzzled her, muttering something under his breath.
"I love you."
