“That's not the only thing, though.” I said after I shifted back. My head was killing me, so Zy gave me some painkillers and I was waiting for it to start working. Blade decided to take some time to himself so that he could rest, so he blocked me and left me to explain things to Zy.

“What else is there?” Zy asked, and I looked at drew who nodded his head, while gesturing for me to go on.

“You've read those werewolf books before, so you must know about mates.” I replied and he nodded his head slowly, before realization dawned on him. His eyes became wide, and he jumps up from the sofa.

“You mean that I'm your fucking mate?” He asked, making me laugh at the way he was acting.

“Yeah, you're my mate. The sparks that you felt whenever we touched, is because of that. Our souls are bonded to each other right until the moment we die.” I said. He nodded his head in understanding as he sat back down on the sofa.

“So we are like soulmates, then?” He asked and I nodded my head.

“A bit yes, It's more advanced than that, though. Not only are our souls connected, but also our bodies and minds. We won't be able to be away from each other for too long, and we won't be able to concentrate on anything else unless we reject each other.” I answered, which was already proven to be real.

“That's the reason, then.” He said, making me raise my eyebrow, in question by what he meant by that.

“I found myself not really concentrating on anything else apart from you, even when I'm
Teaching. I thought that there was something medically wrong with me.” He chuckled and shook his head.

“I'm glad that I was able to occupy your mind, so much.” I said possessively, making him scoff.

“Let's continue talking, shall we? So that means that Drew and West are mates?” He asked and I nodded my head. I don't even see the reason for bringing them into our conversation, but since Drew was here sitting next to us, I guess it was only fair.

“Yeah. West thought that he didn't have a mate before, but it seems as if he couldn't pick up on Drew's scent when he visited the club before. There were other scents mixed in there as well, which can be confusing to anyone.” I replied. That was basically all the explanation I could think about. It wasn't the fact that Drew said that he left before west could see him, but because it was hard to capture anyone's scent when they were surrounded by others that had on perfumes and colognes.

Drew nodded his head as if he were thinking the same thing as me. Zy sighed and rested his head against my shoulder.

“You mentioned something about getting rejected before, what does that mean?” I narrowed my eyes at him, because I didn't understand why he asked me that.

“Why did you ask?” I snapped, making him shake his head at my question.

“I just want to know everything about the werewolf world, that's all.” He replied and I nodded my head.

“Rejecting your mate can be dangerous. If you decided to reject your mate, once you don't find your second chance mate, then it can lead to death. A slow and painful one at that. Your wolf will give up and wouldn't want to live anymore as the pain would be too much to bear. But because you are a human and don't have any wolf, you will probably die of a broken heart or not die at all, I guess.” I said making it clear so that he didn't get any ideas.

“You make it sound as if I were going to reject you.” He said, while laughing. I didn't find it funny, though because he had to allude to it and made me feel vulnerable.

“Ugh I hate to interrupt, but I think I've kept quiet long enough. West is on his way here to taste my cooking, so I'm going to go and take a shower really quick.” Drew said, drawing my attention back to him.

For a minute there, I forgot he was even sitting next to me, that's how focused I was on Zy. Drew made a mad dash from the living room, making me laugh at the way he was acting.

“Seems as if you're starting to tolerate his presence.” I looked at Zy and rolled my eyes because I had no idea what he was talking about.

“Oh come on. You hated his guts and couldn't stand the sight of us together. But now, you've eaten his cooking, and you're laughing, which wouldn't have happened before.” I still wanted to deny the fact that I was kind of wrong about Drew, but that doesn't matter now.

“I've told you something about me, so it's your turn to tell me about your family.” I replied, making him sigh and sit up. I know I shouldn't have asked, but he owed me that much.

“I guess it's only fair.” He said and I nodded my head.

“My twin sister and I don't really get along. It's like we were two strangers and as much as I don't like it, there's nothing I could do about it. It all started when my grandparents wanted me to take over their company, but I refused because I hate astronomy.” He laughed while shaking his head.

“She wanted to take over so bad that it affected our relationship. She said some things to me that I haven't gotten over, and that was enough for me to stop talking to her. Every time we were around each other, she would show me how much she hates me. I doubt that she'll ever change though, and that's the sad part.” He sighed before continuing.

“My parents, on the other hand, want us to talk to each other. They have been pushing me mostly to make the first move, but I don't think I can. I believe that's the reason they want to visit me though, to get me to talk to Samantha again, but I don't think I have the guts to face her. I know that's pathetic of me, but the things she said and did to me made me realize that our relationship will never go back to the way things were before.” I felt sorry for him. Even though he didn't really explain what his sister did, I could tell that it was hurting him. I wish that I knew a way of fixing things between them so that they could be happy again.
