After an excruciatingly long flight Nyoko and Ran were finally in Brazil! The jet had landed not to long ago at a private location that Nyoko was going to assume belonged to Bonten but wasn't going to ask; nothing was going to ruin this trip for her.

Ran was currently on the phone, trying to figure out why their car was taking so long. They were supposed to arrive at the Carlos rancho right before the sun came up to have time to get settled before everyone woke up. Nyoko had been very adamant about that detail and someone was going to lose their life if Nyoko was disappointed.

Nyoko was looking up at the clear early morning sky, still blue as it wasn't dawn quite yet. She let out soft yawns as she held onto Ran's left hand, his right hand putting his phone back into his pants pocket.

"Good morning babydoll, sorry I didn't greet you properly when you reached me."

Nyoko found it so interesting that Ran spoke so formally and aloof with them yet spoke so lazily and so full of fury with others; he'd never risen his voice at Nyoko.

"Good morning to you too, Mr. Haitani."

Ran raised an amused eyebrow, s whimsical smile gracing his lips as he pulled Nyoko close so swiftly Nyoko didn't even process that his hands were around their waist. She squeaked softly out of surprise, an old habit that looked as if it was going to resurface.

"Been a long time since you called me that, what's on your mind, pretty?"

"I'm just nervous, it's been an awfully long time since I've seen my family, since I've seen my mother. I'm not sure she even wants to be in the same room as me."

Ran looked down at Nyoko with a look they hated seeing in his eyes; pity. And that look was present often in his eyes when it came to Nyoko and it made them feel bad. Before Nyoko had a chance to think about that heartbreaking look for a second longer bright headlights interrupted their thought.

It was their ride, just barely making it in due time, just barely making it before Ran started making threats he had no problems fulfilling.

"We can talk about it later if you'd like, it's no problem doll face."

Nyoko forced a small smile and nodded her head, faux locs moving with them. They got in the car as Ran held the door open for them, Ran himself going around to the other side and getting in. Once they were completely settled and the car began making its way to its destination Ran took a hold on Nyoko's hand, his grasp gentle and the rubbing of his thumb reassuring.

Nyoko looked at Ran, a true smile gracing their lips. He'd noticed the forced smile immediately noting that the curve of Nyoko's lips seemed off. He brought their hand up to his lips and kissed it softly.

"I don't know why you forced that smile earlier, however you shouldn't have to when with me. Whatever's on your mind you can tell me darling, you know this correct?"

Nyoko nodded, feeling a sudden lump in her throat. They thought they'd be happy to be in Brazil, they'd made the mindless promise to let nothing ruin this trip but her own mind proved to be her worst enemy.

"I just want my mother. Last time I was here I saw her once and even then it was when she was leaving the rancho. I haven't really seen her since I was five years old, when she left the family. I just want to know she loves me."

A sob threatened to claw its way from the depths of Nyoko's body, threatening to make her feel weaker than they already felt.
It was so hard to admit that all she could ever want was her mother's love again. The touch of her warm hand, the loving gaze from her hazel eyes. Issei's wrong doings had nothing to do with them nor Miguel and Keyton, so why abandon them?
