Seungyeon and Seungcheol didn't look very alike, so no one ever suspected the two to be siblings or even somewhat related to each other. That includes her members.
Seungyeon knew she could and probably should have told them already, but she's scared their impression of her changes, that they think she's only in the group because of her brother.
She knows it's stupid to think that, especially because they already know each other since 2018 and because she has proven her position in the group, plus it's been four years. But, she can't help it.
Like she can't help the fact that she now has to tell the others because Beomgyu saw her and Seungcheol hanging out alone without any real motive, and considering his recent interactions with her, she clearly needs to explain it. An example:
"Yeon?"
"Whassup?" The girl looks up from her phone confused
"Are you like, into older men?" Beomgyu asks, the last part in a whisper, looking around the cafeteria
"Why do you care?!" She asks, her cheeks warming up
"Nothing. Just asking."
"Gyu." She says glaring at him
"Look, I don't mind you dating older people, but, don't go five years over the line please. Anways, I gotta go." He says before rushing off leaving the girl flabbergasted
That was a strange day for Seungyeon in general, but that moment was the cherry on top. So, now you see why she needs to tell them before Beomgyu opens his mouth and instead of one idiot worrying over her, she'll have five idiots, with the risk of them trying to threaten her brother.
Although, judging by Soobin's recent group meeting call and intense staring, it's probably already a little too late.
Talking about the group meeting, that's exactly what Seungyeon is trying to escape from because it'll most probably be one of the most embarrassing moments of her life and she is not ready for that.
"YEON!" The girl has no time to even plan how to escape through her window when Kai bursts through the door screaming her name
"I don't wanna go!" She whines as he grabs her hand trying to drag her, Seungyeon holding onto anything that could stop what was about to happen
"Choi Seungyeon." Soobin says sternly, the girl looking at him before letting go of the doorframe
"I hate y- WHY IS THERE A BANNER WITH INTERVENTION ON IT?!"
If it wasn't already embarrassing to have the talk, to know they were trying to pull a intervention made it ten times worse.
Taehyun pulls her to the couch sitting her in the middle of Yeonjun and himself, Beomgyu and Kai standing in front of her, a projection screen separating them.
"Welcome to the dorms twentyth intervention!" Beomgyu announces, Seungyeon slowly sliding down trying to hide herself in embarrassment
"Today, the topic is..." Kai presses the projector button, the words "Seungyeon's love life!" in bold, italic, underlined, red and sized 80 letters
"I, Choi Beomgyu, was a witness recently of... Something strange, traumatic even." He fake wipes a tear off, Seungyeon's cheeks growing warmer the more he talks "I saw our maknae, our baby with our sunbae, S.Coups."
The next slide is a picture of her and Seungcheol talking, the girl messing with the rings on his hand. From another perspective, it may seem like a date, but knowing she was actually threatening to kick him in the balls right there, she can't help but want to laugh.
"Seungyeon is known to date slash crush on boys older than her, however, this one is different. She's normally into guys three years older, but our sunbae is SEVEN years older."
"That's why we prepared this intervention. Now, Yeon, this is a safe space. Defend yourself." Beomgyu says deadpan
"Okay... Let me up!" The girl says trying to get up, Taehyun holding onto her wrist "As I was saying." She moves to the front directing the other two to sit down
"Hurry up!" Kai says covering his mouth to pretend it wasn't him
"Shut it Kamal. Anyways, he's actually my big brother. There, that's why I was hanging out with him. I'm not dating that hag, I came out of the same tunnel as him, that's all."
"First of all, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US? Second of all, ew, your mom is literally an angel to us, don't say stuff like that." Beomgyu says making a disgusted face
"I don't trust you, you could be lying." Seungyeon grabs her phone calling Seungcheol
"Hey, dickhead. I'm your sister, right?" Their eyes widen at the insult
"Fuck you too! Also, yes, why?"
"Nothing. See you soon, bye hag!" She hangs up before looking at the members "See?"
The five stay silent for a few seconds before chaos begins, the boys questioning why she never told them as Beomgyu apologized for even thinking they were dating.
