CHAPTER 1: MISSING KIDS

NORTH DENVER 1978

It was Bruce's game i only came for him i didn't know the score but i could tell it finney blake's team was winning 3 2 1 boom out of shock Bruce hit the ball so high it fell off the fence i made sure to take a lot of pictures with the camera my mom got me. He saw me in the crowd and smiled i was excited to see him and i know he was excited too. The game was over and everyone was leaving i quickly hurried down to Bruce and gave him the biggest hug and he started blushing i smiled couldn't wait to walk home today with the winner - Valerie

"hey" i said "hey" said Bruce "are you ready to go?" "yeah, i need just need to go get my bike" "okay"

Bruce got his bike since i just walked here i piggyback on Bruce's bike well i was on the bike i took lots of pictures of the sky and green trees of course there were girls walking and started blushing when Bruce rode by he thought i would get jealous but I didn't i played it off cool, then i started to hug on to him real tight to see how he would react he just smiled i know we are only friends but i think i feel more than a friend i just don't know if he feels the same. But i kept on taking more pictures and my camera caught something a black van was headed our way i told Bruce to kept on going because i felt like I've seen it before lucky it just drove past us, I was relieved i hate black vans and especially after what happened to my brother words can't explain why and what happened to him i miss him so much - valerie

"so do you wanna come inside for a movie?" i said "sure" said bruce "hey isn't that the same van that we saw earlier" "yeah" "Bruce" "yeah" "TURN THE BIKE"

boom Bruce turned his bike and we ended up falling off into the grass that van seemed very familiar then i remembered it was the van everyone was talking about, the grabber that's what everyone called him, I started breathing really loud,Bruce tried to calm me down and asked what's wrong i knew my words wouldn't come out but i knew I couldn't let anything bad happened to Bruce, then we saw him he tried to apologize for almost hitting us and Bruce started to walk up to him to see if he was alright, i pushed Bruce and told him to run he was confused. I kicked the grabber in his balls and then kicked him in his face I tried to run away but the grabber grab my foot i stepped on his hand and he let go I was relieved, i told Bruce to get on the bike as soon i was getting on the bike, everything went pitch black i don't remember anything but i know im not dead but the side of my head had dry blood on it, I'm guessing he knocked me out with something but all i wanted to know if Bruce was okay. Oh no I hear something until I write to you again please if anyone see this and I don't make it, don't give up survive and get out of this hell hole - valerie

*knock* *knock*

"Oh hey Bruce" said Finney "hey, you ready" said Bruce "yeah let me just get gwen" "okay"

Day 10 without Val everyone in school thinks she's dead just because they never found her brother they think the same thing is going to happened i miss her i wish i did something to save her i should've protected her sometimes i wished it was me who got kidnapped she didn't deserve that and the fact that I couldn't get that image out of my head it was just replaying over and over in my head she was about to get on the bike and then out of no where he had a bat and smacked her in the head i was so scared i rode away on my bike he tried to grab me but failed i know i have to watch my back now i could be next but the blood and him dragging her body it looked like she was dead but valerie is a fighter she wouldn't died that easy - Bruce

"BRUCE" said Gwen "yeah sorry" said Bruce
"You alright?" said Finney "anyways look Bruce it's new" said Gwen "what" said Bruce with a confused face "the papers" said Finney "looks like Ms.Hopper is putting them up again" said Gwen "I'm glad someone still has hope" said Bruce
Gwen sighs "GUYS LOOK"

Finney went running over to the big crowd it looked like Moose and Robin were fighting, i was surprised that Moose would even fight him, Robin could take him out in one punch and my corrections were correct, Moose swung first and missed then Robin punched him and did some type of roundhouse kick on him, Moose finally fell to the ground then out of nowhere Robin started punching him that blood came out and his knuckles were so bloody i told Finney I didn't wanna be there anymore so that what we did, we left - Bruce

"Does anyone know the answer?" said Mrs.Adams. The whole class stayed slient
"Anyone" she said "okay how about Bruce?"
"Excuse me" said Bruce "Do you at least know the answer?" said Mrs.Adams, "no I don't sorry" *RINGGGGGGGGGGGG* "Class dismissed... Bruce can i speak with you". Bruce walked over to the desk, "Bruce i just wanted to give you this paper i need your parent or guardian to sign this" said Mrs.Adams "what's this?" said Bruce "just make sure they get it please" "okay"

I walked out of the classroom that was my last class of the day, i grabbed all my stuff from out of my locker and went outside to meet Finney, Gwen was going to a friend's house today so it was just going to be me and Finney. While we were walking we decided to stop by the store since we were hungry - Bruce

"now what should we get" said Finney
"I don't know" said Bruce.

while me and Finney were deciding on a snack i suddenly felt a soft touch on my shoulder, I jumped and turned around to see who it was, surprisingly it was Robin i thought it was someone else - Bruce

"Woah sorry about that didn't mean to scare you" said Robin "it's okay" said Bruce "hey finn what's happening" said Robin "nothing much, just hanging out with Bruce" said Finney. "we heading over to Bruce's place to watch a movie if you wanna come" said Finney "*whispers* he needs help taking his mind off of valerie anyways" "finn i can hear you" said Bruce "sure can i just go let my uncle know first i actually buying this stuff for him" said Robin "alright see you later" said Bruce

Robin brought all the stuff he needed and left, meanwhile me and Finney were still choosing snack we finally found one and payed for it. We left the store and heard something weird, I turned around and saw Robin and random man i didn't recognize the man but I remember that van, that black van it was the same van that took valerie and it was about to take Robin. I ran over there as fast as I could i knew he was going to be stronger than but than I stopped because I saw a leg. It kicked the guy right in the face, then I saw Robin fall to the ground i was going to run over there and get him but it looked like he saw someone and wanted to help them, then I saw blonde hair i don't know if I was seeing things but I recognize that hair but anyone could have blonde hair then the person came out. No way it couldn't be she was still alive actually still alive, she looked at me but went back into the car, i didn't understand why didn't she run to us what happened next you know Robin was running toward us. Finney started running away but I was frozen I wanted to go and save her but the grabber was getting back up so I started running, we ran as fast as we could and the closest house was Finney's but i swear valerie hopper i will help you I will save you please just hang in there - Bruce

"OMG WHAT THE FUCK DID I ALMOST JUST GET KIDNAP I FEEL LIKE I CANT BREATHE" said Robin "yeah" said Bruce "but did you guys see who it was in the car" said Finney "yeah it was-" said Robin getting cut off by Bruce "it was valerie, and we have to save her" said Bruce
