Breathing in deep like it was her last gulp of air, Quinn sat up in her bed, her long dark brown hair sticking to her forehead due to her sweat. Her fists gripped the bed sheets unconsciously, turning her knuckles a bright white. Her black amulet glowed softly as the moon's dim light shone through Quinn's crappy blinds.

As another nightmare hit her like a tow truck, this time she couldn't actually remember what the dream was about- which to her, she considered a win win. Quinn turned her head, glancing at her digital clock reading four-fifteen and she sighed to herself, feeling like she was in a state of defeat.

The sound of Quinn's phone ringing was loud enough to make the young woman jump in her spot in the bed, pulling her away from her thoughts. She grabbed her phone from her nightstand and saw her sister's contact. She rolled her eyes and picked up the phone.

"Why are you up?" Sophia asked her voice not even laced with sleep, indicating she was up doing her rounds at the hospital.

"I just woke up." Quinn said, her voice hoarse as she raised her hand to her face to wipe the sleep away.

"I can tell." Sophia said like it was the most obvious thing in the world- which it wasn't.

"What you had like a vision or something?" Quinn asked and Sophia's voice gave out a soft "Mhm" and Quinn breathed in deep and Sophia spoke.

"Another bad dream?" She asked, but she knew the answer before Quinn could reply.

"I wish they would get better for you." She said and Quinn nodded and then spoke, her voice still completely hoarse as if she was being chocked in her nightmare.

"I'm going to try and get some more sleep, call me in the morning." She said and hung up the phone before Sophia could grill her anymore.

Quinn never went back to bed, she stayed up for the rest of the night, scared of what might attack her in her sleeping state.

"You live in a very dangerous apartment, I hope you know and understand that." Allie said causing Quinn to grimace at that fact.

"I know, I know. I already hear it from my sisters, I don't need to hear it from you." Quinn said playfully as they walked into their nearest spirit shop. Quinn had a list of the things she needed to get to continue her protection spell on her apartment, a simple yet tedious spell she remembered her mother teaching her from all those years ago.
