THE WAKING.

"Quinny's going to die." Sophia whispered as she sat up in her hotel room bed, causing Cassidy to furrow her eyebrows inwards a dark feeling hitting her, as she turned to her sister.

"Sophia, go to bed."

"Quinny's going to die." She said again, and Cassidy opened her eyes and looked at Sophia.

"Sophia."

"Quinny's going to die."

"Sophia, wake up." Cassidy said, placing both of her hands on her sister's shoulders and she shook her hard. Sophie blinked and looked at Cassidy.

"Quinny's going to die." She said. "We need to go."

THE DREAMING.

Morpheus felt a sense of fear hit him like a tow truck and he rushed to Quinn's room, feeling something wrong. He threw open the door, not bothering to knock and once he opened it, he saw an empty bed.

His heart dropped and he rushed out of her room and he looked down the hall, seeing Lucienne running, Aislynn sped up with them too and behind the two woman there was a red head, and a brunette, Cassidy and Sophia, Quinn's sisters.

"Lucienne, what is it?"

"Quinn's in trouble, she's going to die." Sophia said and Morpheus fell to his knee and began choking.

"My lord!" Lucienne said, and he spit out water, doubling over in pain. He gasped taking in a deep breath of air.

"Quinn." He said gasping, "Quinn's at the lake."

Aislynn broke out into a sprint, holding onto her sword, Aetherius. She made her way through the castle, silently happy that she wasn't in her armor, which would have made it difficult to make it to the lake. Aislynn hopped on a gargoyle that was in the front of the palace and they flew to the shore.

Aislynn hopped off of the gargoyle before it landed and she grabbed Aetherius and halted it upwards, careful not to let it go just in case Quinn was beneath her.She began making her way into the ice cold water. She breathed in deep as the water consumed her legs and she looked around, trying to find Quinn.

Aislynn turned, seeing Quinn sprawled out on the part of the lake that almost looked like a swamp. There were vines wrapped all around her, around her neck and her leg and they were moving. Aislynn said a large gash on Quinn's abdomen and she grabbed Aetherius and walked her way to Quinn. Once she was close enough she took her sword and began cutting away the vines. The one on Quinn's neck began to move as if it was tightening it's grasp and Aislynn went to cut it away when a Nixie rose from the depths of the water, causing Aislynn to fall back.

"Resilire!" Sophia's voice cried out as she held her hand out, throwing the Nixie back.

"Quinn!" Cassidy yelled and the Nixie rose again and began screeching.

A dark figure from the sky dropped down in the water and brought their knife to the Nixie's chest and Aislynn stood, taking her sword and chopped the Nixie's head off as a banishing spell was preformed by the winged creature. Sophia and Cassidy looked at Samael with a confused look and he bent down to Quinn's body and picked her up in his arms and he flew up to the palace.

"Who the hell was that?" Sophia asked, her eyes wide and Aislynn breathed in deep and looked at them.

"Samael."

Samael rushed into the palace holding onto Quinn who lay limp in his arms. He wore a black shirt that fit him like a glove and regular denim jeans with boots. His hair was disheveled as if he had just woken up. His muscles flexed as he held onto his daughter and he shouted.

"We need a doctor!"

"She's dying, I can feel it." Morpheus said and Lucienne rushed into the sitting room, her eyes wide.

"A doctor is on their way."

"Get her into my room." Morpheus said, a slight strain to his voice and Samael rushed to the King of Dreams and Nightmares' bedroom and he placed his daughter on the black satin duvet. Her lips were turning blue from being in the cold water and her hair was sopping, wetting the bed.

Morpheus rushed into the room, Lucienne following in as Samael looked down at his daughter. He didn't mind that his shirt was wet or that her blood was on his clothes, he knew that when she sent a vision to him of her being stuck in the lake, he had to help.

A short stubby woman rushed into the room, looking at everyone with a confused look. By her ears alone, Samael knew she was Fae and by the looks of it, one who knew what she was doing.

"What happened?" She asked, looking at Quinn's body on the bed and Samael breathed out, looking at the young girl.

"A nixie got her, the Tree of Forbidden Dreams got a hold of her and started taking her into it's slumber."

"Who is she bound to?" The healer asked, causing Samael's gaze to make it's way to her inked arm and his eyebrows furrowed in anger as he put two together. He looked at Morpheus and Morpheus spoke.

"She is my wife."

"You bound my daughter?" Samael asked, anger clouding his judgment and he grabbed the lapels of Dream's coat and he pushed him into the wall.

"I did not bound myself to her! She bound herself to me!" Morpheus yelled and Samael snarled.

"She's innocent! She's practically a child!"

"Take it out of the room now! I do not care if you are the King of Dreams or if you are The Angel of Death. Leave right now." The healer said, looking between the both of them and Samael pushed himself off of Morpheus and he stormed out of the room.

After what seemed like hours, the healer stepped out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her and she walked out into the hall, seeing more people than she could imagine. Aislynn stood next to Cadogan on the wall across from them. Mervyn and Lucienne stood next to Morpheus and Sophia and Cassidy were standing near each other as Matthew took his place on Morpheus' shoulder. Samael stood alone, looking at the healer with his hands crossed over his chest.

"Will she make it?" Sophia said, asking the question everyone wanted to know, including Morpheus.

"She is stable for now. I do not expect her to wake within the day, from what I could tell the Tree of Forbidden Dreams had a firm grasp on her ability to keep conscious. The nixie did very terrible damage. I was able to stop the bleeding, but the Nixie used a poison that I had to reverse so it will take longer to heal." She said said and Sophia breathed in deep and Lucienne asked the question Morpheus was too afraid to ask.

"And what of her mind? Is it still intact?"

The Healer nodded. "Her Lady's mind is still intact. She defended herself for a good amount of time when she was under. I believe from what I saw she performed a water scry, and it went extremely wrong. I will be back tomorrow to check in on her, but I do not expect her to wake up until two days from now." She said and then looked at Morpheus and spoke.

"May we speak, in private." The Healer said, and Morpheus walked to her, Matthew flying off his shoulder and she spoke as he bent down to hear her.

"Your wife got very lucky, this time. Next time, she won't make it. Are you alright? I know the bond can... give you some issues." She said and Morpheus gave her a nod, signalling that he was fine and she nodded and spoke.

"Well, I'll be back tomorrow." She said and then made her way out of the palace.
