Trouble in Paradise

" Mommy ! Daddy ! I'm home"

Every second I spent in the front foyer of our house I became more and more annoyed with my mom and dad. They told me they'll be waiting for me in the foyer so we can go into the living room and talk, where are they?

" Oh , hello Shay. Looking for Mr. And Mrs.Kelly?" Our hired help NanNan asked .

" Hi NanNan , yeah , I am. Do you by chance know where they are?"

"Of course Shay, they're in your father study waiting on you now. They told me to tell you they are waiting in your arrival."

"Thank you Nan. See you at dinner!"

As I made my way to my dads main floor study , I couldn't help but become furious. They couldn't ever stick to the simplest plans and just wait for me in the foyer. What's up with my damn parents, I'll never understand and don't care.

"Hello Priscilla," my father King Kelly said as I entered into his study and sat in my chair , "how are you today darling?"

"I'm good daddy," I said as I faked a yawn and stretched out my legs. This was sure to be long,"just chilling here and there. How are you?"

"I'm good. Thanks for asking. By any chance, have you spoken to Cortland today?"

"Of course daddy, we speak everyday. Where's mom?"

"Your mother is in the bathroom sweetie and because, rumors are being spread Priscilla. Bad rumors."

"About who? Cortland?"

"Yes , and not only Cortland, but, Cortland and Shay Kelly."

"I haven't heard anything and neither has Cortland."

"Of course you two haven't , Linda made sure every article was stopped in its tracks. But, Shay, as you are being called now. Do you know how that makes me look? Me, King Kelly having my daughter being seen flaunting around with one of my clients . It's unprofessional Priscilla. Very. And I do not like it."

"But, daddy! You know me and Cortland hasn't been anywhere near each other."

"Of course he knows that Shay," my mom Carly Kelly said as she entered the room," everyone knows that within a 50 mile radius , but these pictures are from the summer Shay. What was you doing in New York with Cortland during July? You was suppose to been with you Aunt Julie in Colorado."

"Momma. Daddy," I said as I let out a heavy sigh and sat up straight, "Julie told you she was taking me to see him. Why are y'all mad? It was his birthday week and we went out."

"Shay! Dammit, you're 18," my dad yelled at me from across his desk,"why in the good hell were you out with Cortland not one night, not two but five fucking nights Shay? Huh? People are saying you and Cortland are SLEEPING together."

"Daddy! You know that isn't true , you know that-"

"Shayanna Priscilla Kelly, if you don't shut up why I'm speaking. I will shut you up. We have 6Teen Magazine , Life , iNstyle and every big name Magazine calling us to see if its true that you and MY client Cortland are together, SLEEPING TOGETHER SHAY. How stupid are you to do this to me? To your mother? To Cortland?"

"DADDY, I didn't-"

"Shut up Shay," my mom said,"it's not worth it."

"But, mommy. You know me and Cortland aren't sleeping together. We've been best friends for 7 years. You'll know this."

"I know nothing," my dad said,"you go to New York without telling me or Carly, you stay our until 3 in the morning with a MAN, cause Cortland is not a boy anymore and you slept in his apartment during those nights. Shay, why would I believe you?"

"But daddy, I'm sorry. We didn't do anything. I'm still a virgin, and plus, I'm dating Jason Bucks soon like you wanted. That's nasty to cheat."

"Well, Priscilla, you're right. And since you're right, this whole month while Cortland is in time. I forbid you from seeing him outside of this house and meeting. No outings, club hopping or anything. Understand?"

"But, but, daddy!"

"Shut up. Another word and you'll never be able to see him as long as my name is signed before his on any contract."

As I sat there stunned into disbelief, I had to hold back the tears that was threatening to fall out any second. Did my daddy really just say that? No, he couldn't.

"Priscilla," my daddy said to snap me back to reality,"you may exit now."
