Chapter 2

"I believe you have what belongs to me thief." I spoke coldly while having my arm around her waist with my knife held beneath her chin.

I felt her breath hitch as she once again held her breath not wanting to give me an answer. 

"Are you going to give it back or simply get yourself killed?" The knife under her chin pushed softly against her neck threatening to draw blood. 

"No! No! I-i have no idea what your even talking about!" She spoke with haste and tried moving her hand to take the knife away.

I moved quickly and pinned her up against the wall with ice in my eyes staring at her. While moving I quickly snatched the pouch out of her pocket and put it in mine.

"Really? Then how come that the girl who took my pouch a few hours ago is the exact same one as the one in front of me hmm?" I was playing coy with her to see if she would confess. If she did things would be over much faster.

"Oh!- Well.. haha you see, I have a twin sister yeah! She gets into so much trouble I'm sorry for any trouble she may have caused you uhmm ma'am." A bead of sweat rolled down the side of her face as she spoke. A sneaky thief and an awful liar, a combination leading to disaster.

"It's Kazuyuki, but if you truly have a twin sister then explain this." I pulled out the pouch and she went pale. Bingo.

"O-oh uhmm well maybe I had the same one as you.." She was crumbling. Little did I know that's all she needed to crack.

"This is handmade by my mother.. it would be impossible for you to have the same one." Stay calm...  Stay calm don't get worked up. I told myself after speaking to the girl mere inches in front of me.

"Fine! Fine you win... I stole it, but I promise I can explain!" She looked away with guilt knowing she had been caught. However her explaining the reason she did it, now that wasn't something I was expecting to hear. 

"Alright well then explain... and I didn't quite get your name." I got off her and leaned on the wall in front of her so we were facing each other. 

"I'm Azorai and well.. I'm not sure if you've heard about the girl that left Sumeru and did an awful crime, well that girl is me. I didn't commit the crime they say I did all I did was leave and I won't be returning. When I was coming through the Chasm I ran into some treasure hoarders and I lost my mora, so I was left to find some and you happened to be the lucky person. I'll pay you back just name it I promise!" The girl in front of me put her hands together in front of her as if she was praying and looked down. The drama coming from this girl... No one the rumors on her are so harsh.

"I see.. Sigh, here." I tossed her a quarter of the mora I had and looked at her as she looked up confused. "I expect it to be paid back within a month. Don't you dare let it be dirty money either."

"O-oh! Of course Ms. Kazuyuki. Thank you!" The girl in front of me bowed and put away the mora in her pocket. While she was doing so I walked off not caring where I headed to next as long as it was away from her. 

"Ms. Kazuyuki wait!" Azorai was running after me struggling to not trip over herself. Of course she just had to yell it. Once she caught up I noticed maybe 10 millelith surrounding us. 

"Perfect.. this is exactly what I need today. Come with me" I grabbed Azorai's arm before running quickly up the stairs to the main square in Liyue. 

The millelith are a highly trained guard so losing them wouldn't be very easy. I let go of Azorai knowing she would follow. We took a sharp right and started heading towards the stairs leading to the yujing terrace. The two of us quickly ascended the stairs and ran through the terrace. The guards were still trailing us before we got cornered on the edge of the balcony. 

"Stop right there Kazuyuki Aomori!" One of the guards yelled my name which made me mentally curse myself for letting this happen. I looked behind me quickly to see how far the drop was, it would kill us both to simply jump. 

I looked beside me to see Azorai glaring at the guards and threatening to pull out her polearm. Interesting.. I didn't see she had a vision, maybe she has it hidden. 

"Azorai can you trust me just this once." I asked her quietly to which she looked at me with confusion before nodding. 

I grabbed her hand before standing up on the railing to the terrace, and helping Azorai up with a swift pull. I scoffed before jumping to the nearest rooftop which was closer than I had though as the girl followed shortly after. So she wasn't totally talentless, she could jump really well, but lets keep testing her. 

"Follow me I know an easy way out of the harbor" I spoke quickly as the millelith called for backup.

She nodded before I start running and jumping from rooftop to rooftop with ease. Azorai kept up with no worry what-so-ever, it almost seemed like she was having fun. She laughed as we jumped from roof to roof before soon enough we had made it to the edge of the city with not a single millelith in sight. It made no sense.. how could she keep up.

"Woo! That was fun! I didn't know you were wanted by the guards though.." Crap.. She wasn't supposed to find out about that as soon as she did. 

"Fun? You almost got us killed!" I shouted as I pulled out my sword unknowingly. She didn't even flinch. What is with this girl..

"Look it's not my fault that I didn't know you were a wanted criminal, but we still got away." She kept walking and looking back at me "Are you coming?"

"Excuse me?-" I was completely taken aback from what she just said; 'are you coming?' does this girl have a death wish? I put my sword away knowing there was no point to keeping it out.

"Well, I still have to pay you back within a month and we both just ran away from the law so that basically makes us traveling buddies for the time being. Just rule from Sumeru!" The brunette smiled and lent out a hand. She really wan't giving me a choice.

"A Sumeru rule? Fine I suppose we can travel together for the time being, however try not to get us arrested okay?" I ignored her hand and started walking with her.

"Got it! Today states the day that our adventure begins!" Azorai smiled and raised her fist in the air. 

This girl was going to be the death of me..
