Chapter 2 - Found You

Rengoku was sitting in the library with several old phonebooks in front of him, spread all over the table. He was reading through them, searching for the surname ' L/N '.

He'd already gone through a few phonebooks, sorting the ones he had finished in a neat pile to the side. Unfortunately, he wasn't having much luck finding the name he was searching so desperately for.

Although it was difficult, the fiery young man refused to lose hope. His eyes scanned each and every word, making sure not to miss anything.

My darling Y/N, where have you gone?

He thought, a sad expression on his face. He had already tried many other methods of finding the girl, however, nothing seemed to work for him. Desperation led him to search the library's phonebooks. He was desperate and it showed.

He closed the book he was looking through, grabbing another book to continue his search.

He was only a few pages in when he let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing his eyes slightly, before continuing to flip through the pages.

I must find her no matter what. I'm running out of time...

He thought as the seriousness of the situation sunk deep into his heart.

Rengoku was extremely focused that he failed to notice a few girls looking at him in admiration. Even if he did notice though, he didn't care in the slightest as his heart only belonged to the love of his lifes.

Rengoku set the book down and stood up with an exhausted sigh. As he grabbed his bag and his coat he shut the phonebook and placed it on the pile.

pushing his chair in, he grabbed the pile of books to put them back in the shelf. His mind seemed to be in a different place as he began placing the books back in their proper places.

I hope to see you soon, my love.

Rengoku left the library and began walking through the halls aimlessly. He didn't have anywhere he was heading to specifically. He just needed a break from his relentless searching as he could feel an incoming headache due to the constant scanning of phonebooks.

A gentle tap on his shoulder made him stop. Turning around, he was greeted by a beautiful girl. He gave her a questioning look but kep his signature smile.

"Is there anything you need?" He asked as he readjusted his bag.

"U-Uhm.. well.." the girl stuttered, seeming very nervous as she could barely get out a proper sentence.

Rengoku stood patiently in front of the younger girl, waiting for her to speak. He raised his eyebrow slightly in a confused expression as she continued stuttering.

The girl took a deep breath, looking him in the eye before straightening her posture. He seemed a bit more intrigued by this.

Gathering all of her courage, she finally spoke. "I-I-I'm trying to say that I have a crush on you!" The girl said in a slightly louder voice as she grabbed something from her pocket and held it out for him.

Rengoku's eyes widened slightly before he calmed down and let out a sigh. He smiled at the girl, a sorry look in his eyes as he responded "I apologize. Although I admire your confidence I cannot accept your gift or your confession."

The girl had a shocked expression on her face which slowly turned to a hurt look as shebrought her hands towards herself. The tears forming in her eyes were quite evident.

Rengoku had a slightly troubled look on his face as he sighed once more. "My heart already belongs to someone else. I love her very much." He explained.

"Oh" the girl replied in a sad, disheartened tone "I apologize" she bowed respectfully before walking away from him.

Rengoku paused for a moment before turning around and continue on his way. Glancing down at his phone, he realized it was almost noon and he hadn't eaten anything yet. He decided to head to the cafeteria for something to eat.

Despite rejecting the girl, he had a bright smile on his face as usual. This was quite a normal occurance for him so he was used to it. Beside, he didn't really care if the girl was devasted. The only girl that mattered to him was the one he was searching so deperately for.

Where are you, my love?

Rengoku continued on his way, thinking of what he wanted to eat for breakfast.

As he entered the cafeteria, he almost bumped into a guy who was walking out with his friends. The two made eye contact as they passed eachother. Rengoku's eyes widened slightly as he saw the guy.

He seems... familiar..

He watched in slight shock as the guy's friend dragged another guy out of the cafeteria. However, his shock turned to a blissful surprise when he heard the guy yelling " Y/N-CHAAAANNN~!! "

Y/N?!

He was frozen in place for a few seconds before turning around and scanning the cafeteria with his intense gaze. Just then, his eyes landed on a girl sitting all alone and enjoying some cake.

It's her...

He let out a shaky breath as he could feel his world brightening up and the color returning to it, simply by laying eyes on his beloved.

Y/N, my love...

He wanted to just run up to her and hug her. He dreamed of holding her in his arms and taking in her comforting scent. However, he had to compose himself.

I mustn't scare her away just yet.

He had to act normally and gain her trust, as unfortunately although he knew her, she didn't know him. That was a fact he had to take into consideration as much as it ripped his heart apart.

Clenching his fist tightly, he walked up to a randm restaurant, ordering less than what he'd usually eat. As he waited patiently for his order, his gaze was stuck to Y/N, a longing look in his eyes.

After grabbing his order, he was quick to pay before walking away. He pretended to search for an empty table for a moment, his smile widening as he found none. He then quickly started walking up to Y/N.

A few people stopped him on the way, inviting him to sit with them. Some were fangirls while others were guys he was familiar with. He was quite popular due to his attractive appearance and bright personality, thus this wasn't new to him.

With a smile, he rejected everyone's offers until he finally reached the table he was heading to. A gentle, loving smile spread on his lips as he saw the girl looking down at the desserts in front of her with a bright smile.

She seemed to notice him standing there as she slowly looked up, a confused look on her face once she saw him. He could feel his heart skip a beat as she examined his appearance with her eyes.

Regaining his composure, he greeted her with a bright smile, "Hello there!" He sat down, placing his food on the table and setting his bag and jeacket down. He stared at her with a loving gaze, feeling his heart flying from the joy.
