lucy and her mom had spent the day together shopping, since her mom had to leave tomorrow for a few days for work. since lucy's birthday was when she was gone, her mom took her shopping to make up for it. the girl really just wanted to get her hair done and get new shirts, which she did. she felt bad for her sister not getting anything, so she bought her a new necklace that she had been wanting.
once she arrived home she gave maddy the necklace, the girl thanking her before biking off to her friends. lucy sat outside, looking through her phone. she noticed a text from nolan, which was weird.

lucy for some reason wished nolan had texted her for a different reason. like just making conversation, not about jack. it seemed that the only thing they would talk about was him, because it's the only thing she knew to mention. lucy always found it difficult to have a conversation with nolan, because she was always so nervous around him. she hoped it would change soon, and it probably would since lucy basically lives at the taen household when they don't have school. christmas break was coming up, in less than a month, and she would probably be there almost everyday. and lucy couldn't forget about nolan's new year's eve party, which she hoped to go to this year. she only went last year because victoria invited her over and forgot her brother was throwing it, so they got in.
her mom said goodnight, since she was leaving around 2 in the morning tomorrow. it was around 8, so lucy had a shower and finished up her homework before getting into bed and watching the office for a couple hours.
