Three hours passed and Tom found only four things that caught his eye.

1. A fish bowl large enough to hold Steinbit.

2. Two unmoving cat skeletons.

3. A necklace with a key, mouton, and a song note charms on it.

4. a letter written in a language he can't read.

getting bored Tom grabbed the necklace putting it on , the bowl, and the letter. Jumping off of the wreck and climbing on to his raft to show Steinbit what he found.

"Look Steinbit, I found this bowl that should be big enough for you when we finally find some land out here." "Oh that's great!" declared Steinbit. "What else did you find up there?" Tom then showed the necklace he had already adorned around his neck. The pieces that were attached to the necklace were small but garnished with the most intricate details. Steinbit was astonished just looking at this necklace; he knew it had to be a significant purpose. Finally Tom showed the unopened letter to the fish.

Steinbit was shocked to find a letter addressed to him, when he asked tom what it was he was utterly baffled he said " well it's a letter, but I can't read it so it's a snack !" "w-what ?!?" Steinbits eyes widened as he watched Tom crumble up his letter, place it in his mouth, chewed it and swallowed it. Steinbit only watched in shock with only one thing on his mind "why would you eat paper?"

In utter disbelief and anger Steinbit pushed with all his force his tail could muster and launched himself from the water. Like a missile he sprang into the air rocketing towards Tom. With a sudden crash the fish smashed against the cat's stomach forcing him to spue out the contents that were inside of him as he fell to the floor. Within the contents of Tom's vomit were unopened cans, a large piece of a tire, and the item in question, a chewed-up letter. Steinbit flopped over to the balled-up paper and began unfurling it. The letter was a little worn but everything was still legible. As he examined the contents of the letter, shock and excitement arose in face, and he knew where they needed to head next.

enraged, Tom grabbed Steinbit by the tail and chucked him into the water a few meters away from the raft. As Steinbit was swimming back to the raft he poked his head out of the water to see how Tom reacted to his assault on his stomach. What Steinbit saw was the exact opposite of what he was expecting to see. He thought he would see Tom properly disposing of his stomach contents, but what he got was the sight of Tom consuming everything he threw up. This time Steinbit only had two things on his mind: "I need to go home" and " What is this cat doing ,is he an idiot?!!".

Having enough of the stupid cat Steinbit left in a rage and began swimming swiftly away from the stranded ship and Tom. He initially felt no remorse for leaving that dumb cat out there, but as they hours passed and he grew wearier he began to regret his discission to leave. The two had spent a few great days together now and Steinbit really was growing a connection with the cat. It was his first friend in a long time but home was his destiny after seeing the letter. He pictured Tom dropped on the floor all alone on that little raft crying desperately for Steinbit's return. As the day wore down Steinbit headed to the water's surface to whisper his final respects and goodbuys to the cat. As he reached the top of the water he astonishingly looked up to see Tom glaring down at him from the raft.
