"How was your chat with Consul Camillus's son?" Praetor Julius asked as we walked back to his home

"Great," I said

"Don't mind Consul Camillus and just be with your comrade,"

"Why do you care so much?"

"Because you never know how long you have with them," Was all he said before walking through his open gates

I sat at the table as we ate dinner. Today was the day I was going to reveal the news to mom and Caius. Anji already knew of our relationship.

"Aulus," I snapped out of my thoughts and smiled at my mom

"Yes, mom?"

"Don't you like the food?" She asked, staring at my plate

"I do. It's just... I have a lot on my mind," I smiled

"It's nothing bad, right?"

"No," I laughed, taking a bite of the food

"Are you sure, Aulus?" She asked once again

My smile crumble as my heart started to race

"Aulus, what's the matter? Your scaring me," She got up and walked over to me

I looked from my peripheral view to see Juventia staring at me, worried.

"Mom, you won't be angry with me?" I asked, looking down at my plate

"Of course not, Aulus," She placed her hands on my shoulders

I shut my eyes close as I felt a sharp pain in my forehead.

"▇▇▇, do you think this attitude is acceptable?"

"I do think so," I slouched in my chair as I crossed my arms

"What changed from Janet to Sasha? You were ready for marriage,"

"It's different, mom,"

"How is this different, ▇▇▇? Sasha is the perfect girl for you and perfect daughter-in-law for me and you father,"

"How is she so different from Janet?" I sat up straight, "She is perfect in every aspect,"

"▇▇▇, she was holding you back and didn't give off good auras,"

"So, you'd rather I be controlled than be happy,"

"▇▇▇, it's not being controlled. She's giving you a push into real life, ▇▇▇,"

"Then you marry her," I stood up from the chair

The chair screeched behind me as I stood up from the chair. I looked down at her, "Mom, I'm married. Married to Juventia," I turned to look at Juventia then back at her, "I know you don't like Juventia, but if you can just get to know her, you'll understand why I fell for her,"

She stared at me before looking at Juventia. I looked over at her to see her eyes wide in shock.

"So, you did accept Aulus's proposal?" Mom asked

"Yes, but please accept our marriage, our union. I may not be a good woman, but I promise to do anything to make you like me," Juventia stood up

"I should've known," Mom said, smiling at me, "I've noticed the way you've been acting with Juventia. Also, the marks you gave each other wasn't hidden well,"

My hand immediately went to my neck, knowing I have marks. "So, you already knew,"

"Yes, but why didn't you tell me? I know I wasn't fair in the beginning, but when I thought of the past 8 years, I've noticed how Aulus changed,"

"I apologize for not being the ideal woman for Aulus, but I tried to keep him away because no mother would be happy to have a daughter like me," Juventia said

"I'll accept you as my daughter as I was like you, wanting to explore, but also because you made Aulus's day whenever I would see him. He would look happy, but some days weren't the best," She walked over to Juventia, "All I need from you is to make Aulus happy. That's all that matters to me. Can you do that for me?" Mom grabbed Juventia's hand

"Yes," Juventia said, shaking her hand, "I won't let you down,"

"I understand if there are days were you'll hate each other, but don't leave him,"

"I should be the one worrying about him leaving," Juventia laughed, looking at me, "Were stuck with each other, so it's not going to be easy to leave,"

"I'm not leaving," I smiled

"Were all married now," Anji said

I looked at her, "Our family is gonna be bigger now because who knows if were getting another sibling,"

"Aulus!" Mom yelled, "And how about you? When will I be getting a grandchild?"

I looked back at mom and noticed the smile on Juventia's face fall and the panic in her eyes, "It takes time, mom,"

"Well, I do know, but hopefully not to long," She patted Juventia's hand and walked over to her chair

"You have Anji's children to be busy with," I told her as I walked over to Juventia

"It'll only be a matter of time before mom goes insane from them," Anji smiled, "But, a sibling does sound exciting,"

"Anji, you too!" Mom exclaimed, "Why are the both of you so thrilled about a sibling?"

"It'll be nice to see a sibling who looks like Caius," Anji said

"Anji, don't you think I would've given you a sibling by now?" Mom said

Me and Anji gagged, knowing what she meant.

"I won't let that happen," Caius said

"What do you mean by that?" I asked

"Once I have a son of my own, all of my money and property will go to him,"

"What if it's a girl?" Anji asked

"Her husband will inherit it all,"

"But what if she stays unmarried?"

"Antia, I wish it was that easy," Caius smiled at her

"But, you should still have a child of your own,"

"I don't need a child of my own when I consider the both of you as my own,"

"So, what's going to happen to your property and money?" I asked

"I'm going to be giving it to you and Antia,"

"So, there'll be no siblings then?" Anji asked, breaking the silence
