Beep! Beep! Beep!
Groaning I turned over and slammed my hand onto the alarm clock, shutting it up. My heavy eyelids fluttered open as the ceiling came into sight. Blinking I sat up and slowly climbed out of the bed. I yawned and stood up as the warmth off my bed faded away from my body. I trudged to the bathroom groggily.
Minutes later I came out fresh from the shower. Quickly I slipped my towel off and hopped into my under garments, an oversized shirt and jeans, with some fluffy socks to keep my feet warm. Quickly pulling a hoodie on top of my shirt, I shoved my feet into my Vans. I jogged out of the room down stairs and passed my mum who was lying on the couch fast asleep with a magazine sprawled onto her face. Chuckling, I stepped foot into the kitchen and brewed myself some coffee.
About an hour later I left home, my bag strapped over my shoulder and an umbrella in my left hand. I arrived at school panting, just in time as the bell rang. Rushing into one of the buildings, I slipped passed the herd of students avoiding them and practically ran into my classroom, just as the teacher settled in.
Hours passed and i couldn't wait for the day to be over. Lunch came up, with only one period to go afterwards.
Trudging to the cafeteria I grabbed a muffin and placed in on my tray along with a can of soda. Turning around i headed off to a table and sat down by myself. I sunk my teeth into the soft fluffy muffin, the flavour melted my tastebuds with the goodness flowing through it. Closing my eyes, I almost moaned at how good it tasted.
As I was too busy savouring the sweet treat, my best and only friend plopped down in the seat In front of me. I opened my eyes and swallowed the food down.
"Yo." He greeted in his deep smooth voice.
"Hey Squirt." I responded smiling.
"Anthony." He corrected.
"Nah...I've already told you a billion times. I like the nickname Squirt better. It suits you." I smirked.
"Uh huh." He rolled his eyes before snatching the muffin out of my hands.
"Hey!"
"Hi!"
I glared folding my arms. I focused on keeping a serious face.
"You're smiling."
"Am not." I put in all my effort to keep a straight face, but a small smile cracked into my face.
"You are." He teased poking me from across, with one hand as the other held my lunch.
I grinned toothily as my cheeks turned pink."I'm sorry. I just can't take you seriously."
"I know Crimmy. You're so cute when you blush." He cooed.
"Don't flirt with me."
"I can't help it."
"Shut up."
"You're beautiful."
"Stop trying to turn me into a tomato!"
"But I'm just stating the truth."
"Anthony..."
"Yes?"
"There's a tiny roach on your shoulder."
"What?!"
"Just kidding."
"I hate you."
Our bickering and jokes went on. Throughout the whole of lunch, we either teased each other or cracked up laughing at something either one of us said. Soon, the bell rang indicating it was the end of lunch and the beginning of the last period of the day. Lunch was always amazing, Only because of Anthony. Last period went by quickly as well. And before I knew it the bell was ringing.
Time to get out of school.
Students rushed out of classrooms and flooded the hallways. I edited the building and made my way to the school gates. Spotting Anthony leaning on the stone wall I made my way over to him.
"Let's go."
He looked up from his phone, his gaze locking with mine. My breath nearly got stuck in my throat as I stared into his beautiful Amber eyes. As always. A small blush crept up my neck but I looked away letting a curtain of blonde locks, hide my cheeks.
I may have liked Anthony.
In the corner of my eye I saw him shifting his weight off the wall and stepping closer to me. My heartbeat accelerated as my knees bucked weakly.
"Ofcourse." He spoke in his smooth, flattering voice.
Slinging an arm around my shoulder, we both walked in a peaceful silence. Minutes later we arrived at his place.
Once we were inside, I bit my lip wanting to ask him something.
"Um...Anthony?"
His eyes swept over to mine. "Yes Crimmy?"
"Did you hear about the murder yesterday?"
