He stayed silent for quite a long time. As if lost in his own world.

Hesitantly, I tugged on his sleeve. "Squirt?"

"...Huh?" His eyes snapped to me, looking dazed. "Oh yeah...yes I did." He murmured.

Blinking, I stared at is chiseled face not knowing what to say as a lot of words wanted to escape my mouth, but there were far too many.

Finally, I settled with one thought racing through my head. "It's not safe anymore..." Gulping, I tore my gaze away from his handsome face.

"It never was."

Shifting uncomfortably, not liking the curt answer he threw at me, I snuck a glance at the window, looking away from him. Stormy clouds wrapped around the sun, hiding it slightly as tiny streaks of sunlight licked my face. The sun was moving south, as Twilight was just settling in. It would be dark soon.

"Can I stay here for the night?" I asked in a very delicate, quiet voice.

"Sure." He shoved his hands in his pockets and turned around striding over to the kitchen, as if we never had this talk right now.

Sighing I plopped down on the couch and dropped my bag on the floor, beside my feet. After letting my mom know I'll be at Anthony's, I shoved my phone back into my pocket and grabbed the remote control turning the TV on, flipping through the channels.

Anthony came in with a bag of crisps and flopped down beside me, laying his head on my lap; sprawled out on the couch lazily. I stole a crisp from him popping it in my mouth.

"Will you marry me?"

Oh Jesus Christ. This boy.

I nearly choked on the food in my mouth. Not being able to help my snickering, I looked down at him. "No."

"Aww, don't be like that. You know you want this hunk of meat and keep it forever." He smirked pointing to his chest.

"I don't want to think of you as meat." I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. You so want to marry me."

"I'd rather marry a corpse."

"Oh, I'm so deeply wounded." He placed a hand over his heart, pouting ridiculously, feigning a look of hurt.

Snorting with laughter, I pushed him off. "Good." I croaked.

He chuckled, sitting up and smiled sarcastically. "You're so sweet."

"I know." I stuck my tongue out childishly.

Rain started pattering down, tears of raindrops trickled down the windows. Thunder rumbled as a lightning flash lit up the dull grey sky.

I stood up and walked over to the window and pulled the curtains together, hiding the view; not finding the eerie weather fascinating at all. I could hear the ghastly wisps of wind howling through the slim tight spaces in the window pane. A shiver crept up my spine .

But that shiver was not from the cold.
