It was a hot day but the sun setting and the slight breeze made it perfect weather for a bike ride. Even though the near rusting bike Nick rides everywhere didn't make to much noise so it was peaceful. While going down the street he passed Fritz's and smiled. He was happy to see the progress they make even though he can't see the inside. As much as he wanted to stay he had to keep bike riding home before his dad got there. If he didn't get home in the next 10 minutes he won't have time to finish all his chores and he didn't want to get hit or yelled at by his dad for that. He didn't want to give his dad an excuse to hit him.
Being home felt no different from being at Freddy's. Just instead of a Sadie skating around almost knocking you off your own skates, there's a so called dad that will knock you over even when you're not in the way. That doesn't even count the emotional abuse he gets either from both places. Quickly he starts to clean the dishes and put them up, then does the laundry, and half attempts to dust the house but didn't care about the spots he knew his dad couldn't see, then put everything back to rush to his room. I wish I had a lock.
His room flooded with light when he turned on the switch. Blueish grey walls with a white base board surrounding the walls. He jumped in his twin bed not caring that he was still wearing his striped red and white shirt and black jean pants and laid on top of the dark blue covers for awhile. It wasn't long until Nick started to drift to sleep.Nick was skating around the purple and white checkered floor. Serving food to happy customers while Fritz and his band played a soft tune. He felt happier than he's ever felt in his life. No Sadie, no manager threatening him, and thankfully no annoying kids running around. Actually it looked like there were no kids around.. or adults. Nick stopped and looked around. The tune had stopped and the glittery purple curtain was closed. "Where did everyone go?" Nick asked out loud. A small pink flicker came from a dark hall. Nick looked back and fourth just to be sure no one else was around and went towards the hallway. The hallway walls showed the characters and little glow in the dark stars scattered all around. Nick swore he heard his name coming from somewhere. He kept skating until he got to the end of the hall. A door marked "parts n' service" was in front of him. He stared "were they trying to make this a country restaurant before?"
"Nickkkk" a disembodied voice said.
Now he knew clear as day where it had been coming from.
"Nick.... Nick" it said again.
He started to open the door.Pain started to spread from his arm as he shot up to see his dad right in front of him. "Nick are you def?! I've been calling you the whole time!"
Nick rubbed his arm, he wished he could talk back but that wouldn't end well for him, so instead he asked, "what is it?"
His dad stared at him angrily, "what do you think it is?! You left your damn bike in the front of the lawn!"
Nick knew that was a lie because he put it up where he always did. His dad must of been mad before and tried to destroy it... again. "No I didn't! I put it on the side of the house like you s-" nicks words got cut off by a forceful slap in the face which made him turn over and hold his cheek. "What have I told you about talking back?! Now go outside at pick up that bike before I run it over myself!" His dad stomps out slamming the door. Nick laid there holding his cheek a little longer making sure he didn't start to cry. After awhile he got up and quietly left his room so his dad didn't try to follow him out.
Opening the creaky front door to see his bike in the yard. "I swear I didn't put it there.." Nick walks into the dark night and puts his bike back where he swears he left it and quickly got back to his room.
