Day Five

A tree exploded into a million pieces as a lightning bolt struck it. Dozens of emerald green bats were blown to smithereens by the blast. Regardless, Batman continued his assault by conjuring up gigantic batarangs and hurling them at Thor.

It had been nearly twelve hours since their fight began, yet neither of them had given in. This would be impossible for any mere human. However, for a Norse god and a member of the Green Lantern Corps, it was just another battle. One that neither of them were going to lose.

Blood splattered across the grass as Thor landed a heavy blow to Batman's face. He grabbed the Dark Knight and, with a mighty roar, slammed him into the ground. The sickening sound of shattered bones echoed through the forest as the God of Thunder stomped on his chest.

It wasn't over just yet. An exact replica of the Batmobile appeared out of thin air and rammed into Thor as hard as it could. His whole body was crushed between the weight of the summoned vehicle and a very sturdy rock formation.

This gave Batman the breathing room he needed. As the illusion faded, the ring on his finger began to glow brilliantly. Arcane energy swirled around his clenched fist as he faced his opponent.

Thor let out an unearthly bellow. Lightning coursed through his veins as he summoned Stormbreaker once more. The axe began to tremble from the power surging through it.

In unison, they fired a beam of immense energy at each other. They put everything they had into the attack, not caring about what happened to themselves. All that mattered to either of them was that the other one died.

The ensuing explosion wiped out nearly a quarter of the Arena, reducing most of the forest to ash. The impact was so great that it caused an earthquake which shook mountains and caused the Fantastic Four's base to collapse.

It was a miracle that the rest of the heroes emerged (mostly) unscathed. When everything calmed down a bit, Doctor Strange opened up a portal to the epicenter to see what had happened.

He, alongside Superman and Captain America, stepped through and immediately noticed Stormbreaker and a Green Lantern ring lying on the ground.

"Guess that's what happens when an immovable force meets... another immovable force," Strange said while inspecting the piles of dust next to each weapon.

Captain America held out his hand. Superman gave him a puzzled look.

"Is something wrong? What are you d-"

Suddenly, Stormbreaker flew out towards his outstretched hand. He gripped the handle firmly. Something about it felt so familiar to him.

"H-How'd you do that? I thought you said only gods could wield such divine weapons," Superman asked, now completely bewildered. However, Cap was just as confused as he was.

"I don't know. I just... it felt right. Like... I'd done it before."

He stared at the axe in his hands and shuddered slightly as a tingling sensation crept up his spine. How did he know that would happen?

"Um, Clark? The ring's flying now. Is that good or bad?"

The two of them turned to Strange. He was right. The Green Lantern ring was now hovering in place. As he reached out to grab it, the ring quickly flew off into the distance, disappearing from view almost immediately.

"That's probably not a good sign."

Raven searched through her spell book. Despite having read it front to back countless times, there were still some incantations that she occasionally forgot about.

When she reached the last few pages, something caught her attention. A small yellow sticky note dangled off the end of the book. Some strange runes were scribbled down along with an illustration of her doing weird hand motions. This wasn't her handwriting. Someone had tampered with her book!
