During his days in Brighton, Thomas particularly despised his uniform, for how long Horace and Lucia forced him to not change out of it after school. Not only that, but it was way too bland for his liking being all black and white with no color or anything that he would've liked. In terms of style, Thomas was always the kind of person to choose blue or blue with red accents, and the longer kinds of coats. Nothing that a school would ever dare to have, or so he initially thought.
About two weeks had passed since Sir Topham Hatt's visit and Thomas along with his Parents, the Stones, and the Stirlings were all in a horse carriage, making their way towards Knapford. The previous week, they all had an initial measurement-taking appointment with the tailor and now were heading to the place to officially get their uniforms, before moving to the dorms of the SMA.
"Can't believe that we're going to the SMA after this!" Emily remarked.
"I know!" Lady exclaimed as she replied to her friend. "How about you Thomas?"
Thomas sighed and looked sternly about.
"The academy, maybe. But I'm still not a hundred percent sure about the uniforms. I'll put up with it during the school year, but still, I do have my doubts."
"And I understand," Lady replied. "Hey! This isn't the worse price you have to pay, Thomas. Besides! I still get to train with you, and as well as be in a great class with Emily! Once when graduate, we'll be even better swordsmen than before!"
"I guess there's that," Thomas replied. "Sorry if I sound so down in the dumps, Lady."
Lady just smiled as she continued to look into the sorrowful eyes of her childhood friend. She knew that he meant well and doesn't really mean to be grumpy. There were some changes to him, sure, but the boy she knew since childhood was still at his core.
Before it was too long, the Horse carriage arrived at Knapford and the street where the tailor was at. After stopping, Thomas helped Lady and Emily out as he was taught to, by his parents.
"Hey, Lady." Emily then remarked to her friend in a teasing way. "Was it me? Or were you grasping on to Thomas's hand for dear life?"
Lady gulped and turned red at this as she remembered a certain little comment from her friend that got her all flustered. She whimpered in embarrassment as she pouted hard at Emily.
"Not funny!"
"What's not funny?" Thomas asked out of curiosity.
"Nothing!" Lady replied with a huff, leaving Thomas bewildered.
"What's gotten into her?" He wouldn't even have an answer to that question as their parents were all disembarking from the carriage.
Inside the shop, the Stones, Stirlings, and, Billintons all entered, as the Tailor, Dina Hughes stood, waiting for them.
"Welcome back!" She greeted them with a smile. "Alright now. Petra, Emily. You both follow me. I have someone else who would be helping you out, Thomas."
As if on cue, a 16-year-old in a bright red set of clothes stepped before them.
"James? Can you help Thomas with his uniform please?"
"Sure!" The crimson happily replied as he then gestured Thomas to follow him. "Alright! This way!"
"Sure thing." Thomas sighed, as he then slowly followed behind.
As they stood, Lady noticed a stunned look on Emily's face. Smirking, she saw her moment for some payback.
"Hey, Emily. What's up with you? Did that guy in red charm you or something?"
