Sarah

There's something strange about city of Rose at night. The way moon and stars glisten in navy sky above the buildings. Even amongst flames that burn some of the builds surrounding the skyscrapers, it's beauty still there. The evening rain helped break up some of the fog below just enough to see the glowing lights from lamp post on the corner of the streets. The buildings near by you could see the damage cause by the uncontrollably fire started yesterday that was finally put out by the rain.

There still unanswered questions to what is really going on. was the rest the world falling apart too? She had time to think, to be alone with her thoughts at night. The apartment was quite all were asleep, but her. Sarah couldn't sleep as usual. She looks at her phone at old text messages from her friends. She worries for her best friend's safety. She hoped one of her messages would eventually would go through or even receive text messages just saying all is well.

She craved interaction with friends outside these walls. Of course, she had Greg to go through this with, but it wasn't the same. She wanted to go the coffee shop and listen to musicians at open mic with friends! It's the small things you tend to miss the most. Things were different now and they may never be the same again.

Sarah put her earplugs in and turn on her music. She drifted off to sleep next to her sister Kerri.

Night before chaos

Sarah looks over at Kerri she trying to get her sister's attention. Kerri glared at her to stop. Finally, Kerri gave in.

Dad raised his eyebrows and looked over to Mom. Kerri wasn't much on partying, so the two were surprised that she was asking to go. The two were complete opposites of one another. Kerri was always the responsible one who had to follow the rules. She is extremely smart and talented artist. Meanwhile, Sarah was outgoing, wild, outspoken, and curious about the world around her. She had her talents that would often be overshadowed by her siblings.

Why all sudden interest in a party? Asked Mom

"Well, it's my senior year, and I told myself I would have more fun this year! It's the biggest party of the summer. We can't miss it."

Sarah didn’t think her parents would buy that. After all, Kerri wasn’t very good at lying.

Mom and Dad both seem unsure about it, but only said yes if we were home by 11. We quickly ate dinner and got ready. Sarah follows Kerri across the parking garage and over to her mom's car.

"Let me drive please?" Sarah begged.

"Fine, be gentle with the car"

She smiles barely gives Kerri enough time to put her seatbelt on before her red heals pushed down onto the gas speeding out the garage. Sarah was always the wild one more adventurous out the two. While Kerri was responsible older sister who felt the need to be a second mom.

Where exactly is this so call party? Kerri asked.

"You'll see" she says.

" Okay, please slow down! Before you get us arrested"

We pull up rustic old building. It didn't seem like a place for a party. There's a line wrapped around the building. Sarah leads the way towards front of line.

"What are you doing? We can't just cut everyone in line!" said Kerri.

"Sure we can! Watch this"

She turns and faces the bouncer and gives her name. He smiles and opens the door. Sarah explains her name is on VIP list. The two walks in are great by neon colors covering the wall, display of variety of artworks of sculptures, photographs and paintings lining the walls. Pass the art room was dance floor and DJ booth playing music. They also had place set up for live bands to play.
