"Monsieur, can you please let me go now? It's been two hours," said a man dressed in a brightly coloured uniform, to a man wearing a black suit, a blue tie and sunglasses.
The man had just entered the interrogation room where the construction worker had been held. It was a dark room with a single hanging light.
"Can you at least tell me how my friends are doing? You are the first person I have seen here after that officer in hours! Are you a detective or something?"
"I assure you that your friends are safe," the man said, as he sat on the chair folding his handsHe then proceeded to put his legs on the table but receded when he saw the worker frown.
The worker scoffed, "you're not even french."
"Yes I am Indian in origin, but I am currently working here. I am officer sam. I will ask you a few questions and you will answer them. Understood?"
That was a fake name. But Chandra deemed it necessary to use one.
The worker was not pleased but nodded.
"I need your verbal consent."
"Oh, for God's sake Yes!"!
Chandra got up from the chair and put his hand on the table. He leaned uncomfortably close to the worker and said- "Why did you start the fire?"
"What fire?" The worker asked looking genuinely confused.
"The cathedral's."
"Preposterous! You think I'm an Arsonist? I want a lawyer! Get me one! Right now!"
Chandra stepped back and started walking around the chair.
"Where were you when the fire started?"
"That's none of your business! Just get me a lawyer, why won't you?"
"LSD is a fine drug, ain't it?"
The worker went completely silent. Chandra stopped walking and put his hands on the table again.
"Where were you when the fire started?"
"I swear to you! I didn't start the fire! You imbecile!"
"That was not my question!" Chandra bellowed and slammed the table loudly.
The worker flinched.
"I was with my mistress! Please…"
He had started sobbing softly.
"Ah, shameless fellow. You're married, aren't you?"
"Please don't tell my wife."
Chandra now grabbed him by his shirt and pinned him to the wall. In a very intimidating and angry voice he asked, "I am not going to ask you again. Where were you when the fire started?"
Suddenly, the door to the room burst open.
A lady wearing a black suit and a blue shirt walked in.
"Qui es-tu?" She said with a shocked expression on her face.
Chandra quickly left the worker and sprinted towards the door. He tackled the woman and ran out.
"There is a man! We have an intruder! Black suit and sunglasses !" She shouted in french into her transponder as she tried to get up.
Alarms started ringing.
"Quick Chandra!" A man shouted on Chandra's transponder. He increased his pace.
He was just about to reach the exit when he saw a police officer.
"Arrêt!" The officer shouted with his gun pointed at him. Chandra stopped. The exit was right behind the officer.
