Cuts & Bruises [Max x Reader]

Invitations

Standing beside your best friends you watched as Max rode around on her skateboard. It was lunch time, and now that your group had an idea of who Madmax was, you needed to observe to make sure.

"There's no way that's, Madmax." Mike shakes his head as he speaks and Will agrees "Yeah, girls don't play video games." 

You glance at both of them causing them to smile sheepishly "Except you, Ten." you nod in acknowledgement before looking back at Max "But still, even if she was playing Dig Dug its impossible to get 751,300 points!"

You shrug at Mike "Maybe she's just really good at the game." he shakes his head "It can't be her." "But her name is, Max." Lucas chimes in and you glance at him as he and Mike talk "So what?" "So, how many Maxes do you know?"

"I don't know." Mike shrugs and you step forward "Zero, Mike. We know zero Maxes." Sighing you kick your board into your hand and readjust your bag before walking off, the boys watching as you leave.

"Where are you going?!"

You shake your head and throw your board down before stepping on it to skate over to Max, who was now starting to make her way inside "To make an introduction! We look like idiots!"

The boys call out to you but you ignore them as you skate up to the building and step inside. You spot Max standing in front of her locker and you skate through the halls to reach her.

"Hey, Max!" you call out to her as you step off your board, watching as she closes her locker with a roll of her eyes "Hey yourself, Stalker." her voice is cold as she turns to walk away, you follow after her.

"Look, I know we look like creeps but we just wanna be friends! We know what it's like to be the odd ones out and since you're new you might run into some trouble!"

She scoffs "Trouble?" you nod "Yeah." she stops to look at you, a brow quirked as she stares into your eyes "Look I'm sure you can handle your own, but you seem like a really cool person and I don't want anyone bothering you more than they have to. Plus, I could really use another girl in the group."

You smile sheepishly at her as you speak, her gaze making you nervous. She stays quiet for a few moments before shaking her head "I think I'll pass. See you around, Stalker."

Frowning you watch as the shorter girl walks away from you leaving you in the hallway. You could hear people whispering about you as you stood there, laughter falling form their lips as they snickered at you.

You blush anxiously before quickly making your way to your next class as the bell rang.

"Still no sign?" Skating up to your two best friends you popped up your board and hid behind a car with them. You, Lucas, and Dustin agreed to meet up at the arcade after school to try and catch Max.

"Jackshit." Lucas sighs as he lowers the binoculars to turn to you. You smile at him and do your little handshake before looking back to the arcade. It's quiet for a few moments and you watch out of the corner of your eye as Dustin looks down to his watch.

"Oh, damn it! My moms gonna murder me." his head falls back as he groans and you stare at him as Lucas glances to you then the curly haired boy, shrugging as he talks"So go home, Ten and I will radio if she comes"
