Chapter Fourteen

Niall's POV

I mentally braced my self for the song Louis was about to play me. He told me to just listen to the lyrics and that's exactly what I was intended on doing. If he was making this such a dramatic and big deal, I knew it had to be really important to him. He pressed play on the stereo after plugging his iPhone into the adapter. He came back and sat next to me on the arm of the recliner.

The first thing I heard was smooth chords of an orchestra followed by graceful guitar tabs. They mixed so well together and I was amazed at how well Louis was at putting the instruments' sounds together. I never knew he had this kind of talent. After the intro of the song, Louis' sweet voice drifted through the room and into my ears.

(Again the lyrics are REALLY important in this story and I highly suggest reading/listening to the song. This song is originally written by Brantley Gilbert but for the story line Louis wrote it with Bradly! There will be a link on the side with the video. I have again changed a few lines to work for the story and again we're pretending Louis wrote it and not Brantely Gilbert!!)

I've got the letters she wrote

Her picture in a frame

I've had a week to let go

She's still wearin' my ring

It hasn't left her finger since the night that I proposed

When I promised her forever before she came home

But she never made it home that night

Part of me died too

She's watched me losin' my mind

And there's nothin' she can do, oh

Sometimes I go crazy screamin' out her name

Saying "baby please come save me"

I wish she knew I'd do anything

To kiss the tears right off her face

Tell her everything's okay

Feel her heart beat next to mine

And make up for lost time

Oh but God I know I can't

But You can't let her live this way

It's too late for savin' me

But there's still hope for savin' Amy

Now 3 years have gone by

I'm finally livin' life

She still watches sometimes

Just to make sure I'm alright

She knows I'll always be there

In her heart and in her dreams

Cause God, I promised her forever and that's one promise I intend to keep

And kiss the tears right off her face

Tell her everything's' okay

Feel her heartbeat next to mine

Make up for lost time

God I know I can't

But you can't let her live this way

It's too late for savin' me

But there's still hope for savin' Amy

Savin' Amy

I'll kiss the tears right off her face

When I walk her through these gates

Feel her heartbeat next to mine

Make up for lost time

And God I'll thank you everyday

For giving her that house of faith

That led her right back here to me

And most of all for savin' Amy

Savin' Amy

Thank you God for savin' Amy

Savin' Amy

By the end, tears were flowing freely down both mine and Lou's face. I looked over at him and he smiled weakly at me.

"You can't give up on her Niall,” He said. “Seriously, she needs you in order to come back. I believe you when you say you can feel her here. I never had that experience with Amy...but Bradly did.” I looked at him shocked. He never told me about Bradly seeing or hearing Amy talk to him when she was in her coma.

“Niall, at first I didn't believe him, just like that one day last week at the studio when the guys and I didn't believe you. But he kept talking about it. He said he could feel her following him around and feel her presence. I thought he was going crazy or spending too much time at the hospital, but he wouldn't give up. He wouldn't let people call him crazy. He stayed strong the entire time and was strong enough to let her go. Niall, don't be strong enough to let Skylar go,” Louis paused for a moment and turned his face from the window and looked directly at me where I was still sitting on the recliner, crying softly. “Be stronger than that and strong enough to help her get through this. I know you Nialler, you're a great lad. You can do this,” Louis ended his rant and walked over to me.

Louis held out his hand to the and I took it immediately, getting up off the chair. The older lad pulled me into a comforting hug and whispered in my ear, “I know you can do it, Nialler. I believe in you.” We stood there for a few moments just in a calming embrace. It was nice to talk with someone about what was going on in my life at the moment. I was starting to wonder why I didn't go to Louis in the first place.

This was a ton longer in word, but I guess the lyrics took up a lot of space. Oh well, again, next update will be on Sunday and please listen to the song!! Thanks for reading!
