Purpose in the Machine

~Danielle's pov~

"Hell of a machine, Elle. Built for precision and speed" Ward said as he was driving some rich guy's car around a parking garage, as the rich guy was hanging off the front of the car "Designed to handle flawlessly under any conditions. Carmine here brought it as a status symbol to show off. Never opened it up. Denied it of its true purpose" and turned the corner "Hydra's full of guys like him. Soft, entitled, mistaking wealth for success. Privilege for power. Their greed splintered Hydra into a thousand pieces" He continued "Their time is over. Time for a leaner generation" and Ward put his foot on the break and the guy flew off. Ward turned the car off and we got out the car

"These people have proven themselves in blood" Ward continued talking about the Hydra agents around the parking garage

'He talks too much' I thought to myself

"See how they didn't even flinch? Now's your chance" Ward told him, as we walked towards him "To prove you still have purpose. Show me you're not dead weight"

Carmine looked at us both, but didn't say anything, Ward bent down to him and started to talk again "So tell me. Where's the kid?"

~Time Skip~

Me and Ward were at a boat dock as I was looking at pictures of the Stucker kid to make sure we have the right person "What's the point of a boat if you never take it out of the dock?" Grant spoke up, I tried not to roll my eyes at his annoying voice "It's like camping in a living room" and he passed me the binoculars and i took them "There" he pointed as i looked through them and saw Stucker in a white suit talking to some girls

"There are easier ways of getting money than kidnapping" I said in my British accent looking through the binoculars

"Mr. Braun needs to see the world for what it really is. He can open many doors for us" Ward said, I rolled my eyes and gave him the binoculars back to him and took my jacket off and threw it on the floor and grabbed the waterproof bag with the rats inside and jumped in the freezing cold water

"How is it?" Ward asked

"It's cold" I said and then started to swim over to the boat, I reached the boat without being spotted, I went under water holding my breath and swam over to the lower part of the boat and slid the bag onto the boat

I climbed on to the boat quietly as possible and opened the bag of rat and the the rats came out and started running around the boat, and a couple seconds later i heard screaming and yelling

~Time Skip~

I punched Strucker in the face as he was sitting in the chair in our little interrogation room as Ward walked in. "You never earned a single thing in your life" Ward told him, as i walked over to the table in front of them "You're wasting your family money. So we're taking everything" and I open my laptop "Starting with banking passwords"

"Go screw-" Strucker started but was cut off by Ward punching him in the face

"I'm not asking. From here on out, you want something, you earn it" Ward told him and looked over to me "Teeth eyes, fingers, whatever it takes, get the passwords" I nodded and Ward walked out, I took off my jacket again and looked at Strucker

A couple hours later, after Strucker still hadn't told me the passwords I slammed his head into the table and laughed "I figured you for a mama's boy. One slap and you'd spout out the info. It's been a good run, kid, now, let's just skip to the end" I pulled his head up as he was still in the chair and punched him in the face and he fell off the chair

"Come on" I said impatiently

"Ok, you win" He said, I smirked until he quickly got up and stabbed me in the hand with something, I grunted and went to punch him when he tackled me too the floor "Nobody treats me like that and lives" and grabbed something metal and hit me in the face with it "Do you even know who the hell I am? Do you?" and kicked me in the face

"You're Werner Von Strucker" I heard Grant say "Your father was Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. One of Hydra's greatest leaders. A powerful family name doesn't mean you deserve respect. You earn that" Ward continued "I wondered if you had it in you. Your old man would be proud. Come oo, I brought tacos" I rolled my eyes as i was still on the floor

~Time Skip~

The next day I was sat in one of Hydras base offices as I heard the door open, I turned my chair around and a man who i recognised instantly walked in covered in blood

"You certainly don't make it easy to get a meeting" Hunter said, I hoped that he wouldn't recognise me and blow my cover

"The boss doesn't want it to be easy" I answered and stood up from my seat "But he's always interested in meeting people that can prove themselves"

"Sounds like an interesting bloke. I look forward to meeting him someday" He answered.

I looked at the two men behind him, and sighed "You two leave the room" I told them

"But ma'am it's against protocol" The one answered, I death stated at them both

"I said, get out" I yelled, they nodded and left the room quickly. I turned away from Hunter and walked over to my desk "Remember me?" I said dropping the British accent, I turned back to him, he thought for a second before answering

"Elle?" He asked

"Surprise" I answered back

"W- what are you doing here" He asked shocked

"I could ask you the same question" I comment

"I'm here to kill Ward" We said at the same time, I nodded

"Glad we're on the same page" I finished

"Why not take him out now? You could easily do it?"

"I'm keeping my cover, I have it all planned out" I told him and sat in my chair "...How's Bobbi?"

"She's working on getting back to full strength" He sighed, I nodded

"I can get you to Ward quicker then normal, I can pull a few strings and we both can take him out" I told him
