JULIA
Roxie, Trishia, Gaile and I were just talking about our plans on living here in the Philippines. It's too difficult for us to interact again with new people, it's just a cycle for me. Six years ago when my parents and I decided to live here in the Philippines. Interacting with new people, going shopping alone because I don't have any friends. Until we decided to leave Philippines again, because we're not comfortable in the situations. But here I am together with my friends walking fiercely outside the airport, waiting for our parents to fetch us. It's so hot as hell.
“How about you Julia? What's your plan here in the Philippines?” Trishia asked me with a smile on her face. She removed her eyeglasses and put it in her head like a hairband.
“I'm going to enroll in a decent school near our place, I guess? Like I use to do back then. Wanna come with me?” I playfully smirked. Gaile's face lit up when she heard what I said. Oops she misunderstood it HAHAHAHAHA.
“I wanna go with you Julia. You know me really really well.” she laughed softly. Roxie were just quiet like how she used to, but she's easy to get along with.
Four SUV parked in front of us. My parents went out of the car, I smiled and hugged them.
“I miss you Mom, Dad. How's your life in here? You miss me didn't you?” I pouted. Mom laughed and ruffled my hair.
“Of course we missed you so much. Let's go home, I know you have a jetlag hija” my mom told me to get inside the car before it get too hot outside. I waved goodbye to my friends before telling them to go to our house for dinner with their parents. They just nodded and went inside to their cars.
Our driver drove fast so we arrive to our mansion before 1:00pm. Nagpaalam ako sa aking magulang na magpapahinga na muna sa aking k'warto.
My room didn't change. It's just the same, the furniture were still the same. I went to my walk in closet to see if it didn't change, and I'm right. My closet filled with my signature bags, shoes and of course my clothes.
I change my clothes into pajamas and went to my bed. A couple of minutes before I fell asleep.
“Señiorita Jushani. Your friends are waiting for you downstairs, it's almost dinner time” one of our maids called me outside my room. I went to the bathroom to take a shower. I sleep for almost 5 hours, tf!
Hinayaan ko ang tubig na dumaloy sa hubad kong katawan. While thinking of something, a memory suddenly flashed through my head.
"Daddy please...not my baby!" the woman shouted. She’s crying...she's crying for her baby.
"Ilalayo ko siya. Ilalayo ko siya sayo. Baliw ka Johanna, baliw ka! I won't let you touch this baby. You're going to kill her!" I gasps when I heard my father's voice.
I opened my eyes and the memory still doesn't sink in. What the fuck?!
Maybe I'm just thinking too much.
I turn off the shower and wear my bath robe. I went to my walk in closet and wear a pink plain shirt tucked in with blue shorts.
Bumaba na ako at tumungo'ng sala. My friends were already there with their dad. I'm sure their mom were in the kitchen, cooking our dinner.
“Hi guys. Good evening Tito, Good evening Dad” I greeted them with a smile.
“Good evening hija. How's America? Gaile's dad, Tito Kainumi.
“It's good Tito. How about you? How's Philippines?” I sited in our single sofa before leaning my arms on the side.
“Philippines is wonderful hija. It's fun staying here. You should try visiting Palawan hija”
“Soon tito” I smiled.
Dad is still quiet, thinking of something. The memory earlier still bothering me, I don't know what that means.
“Dinner is ready!” mom shouted inside the dining hall. I'm so excited to eat Filipino dish again!
“Hmm....smells so good!” Roxie uttered in excitement. Napangiti nalang ako dahil sa aking naisip. Food can make her talkative huh? Well that's better.
“This is yummy! Mom, Tita's. You're the best cook ever!” Gaile tasted the foods one by one. Gaile handed me the spoon so I could taste it too.
Wow! Just wow! It's so delicious!
“It's good!” I gave them small smile before sitting on the available chair.
“I wanna go home. I'm going to ruined my diet because of this delicious food!” Trishia pouted which cause us to laugh. How cute!
“Ngayon lang naman kase Trishia. There's nothing wrong about it, besides some of Filipino dishes were healthy. Kung ayaw mo edi 'wag sino ka ba para pilitin ha?” Pabirong usal ni Gaile.
“What the—You're so plastik Gaile. Ang pangit mo na nga, pangit ka pa ka bonding” Trishia fired back. I laughed and laughed until I choked on my food. Roxie gave me a glass of water and I sipped of it.
“Easy Julia. Easy” she smiled at me.
“Thanks Rox.”
“Always welcome”
My dad started talking about business. Dad is a busy person. A lot of businessmen's accompanied him to have an investment to their companies but that didn't agreed with it. My father is afraid of what they called 'scam investment'.
“Let's talk about our plans for our daughters. I want Gaile to be responsible as me. Ayoko siyang matulad sa ibang kabataan na lakwatsa lang nang lakwatsa at parang asong pinabayaan nang may-ari” Gaile's mom said. I parted my lips in shocked when she opened up that kind of topic. Tita Venice were the stricter one among my mom's friend.
“But mom. I'm responsible, besides I don't have plan to be one of what you called 'lakwatsa lang nang lakwatsa'” Gaile answered. “And mom, dad. I'm taking Bachelor of Science and Accountancy this sem. Hayaan niyo na ako, alam ko naman na kung ano ang gusto kong kuhanin eh”
“What?! I told you already Gaile. I told you!”
“But I don't want to be a doctor mom. Lagi niyo na lang ba akong kokontrolin? Just let me this time, aayusin ko naman eh.”
“Calm down guys. Calm down. Nasa harap tayo ng pagkain, mamaya na 'yan.” my mom interrupted. I massaged the bridge of my nose. This dinner is getting worst.
“Bachelor of Science and Accountancy. That's what I'm going to take Ma. I know you'll agree about it” I said.
“Of course hija. Ikaw lang ang magmamamana ng kompanya natin. Kaya habang maaga pa kailangan mo nang matutunan ang tungkol sa business, but don't stress yourself too much. Magpahinga rin kapag may time” sagot ni Mommy. I'm so lucky to have her.
“Yea mom”
“How about you Trishia? Roxie?” my mom asked them.
“Im going to take BSA as well” Trishia answered.
“I'm taking BSCE tita.” Roxie said.
“Ikaw lang pala ang mag-iiba ng kurso hija, but being an engineer is nice too. Goodluck” Mom uttered.
The dinner ended smoothly. It's not obviously a perfect dinner because Gaile and her parents had a small argument. I'm planning to enroll tomorrow in Colegio De San Pablo. Obviously Roxie will be in different school. Dionela College.
I heaved a deep sigh before going to my room. This day is tiring for me and tomorrow will be tiring too.
I went to my bathroom to do my night routine before going to bed. I brush my teeth and put some facial cream on my face. Facial cream nga 'di ba?
After doing my night care routine, I change my clothes into pajamas and went to bed. Nag-alarm na rin ako to 8:00 am for tomorrow's enrollment.
I fell asleep after thinking of many things like what that memories meant to me.
