Kai Part 10

, "Tell me, e-veryth-ing." "Li-Na you no-" "I think I've heard enough from you Mr. Yang." I looked at Tasha and she nodded her head slightly indicating that it was going to be okay.

"I was 5 when my parents abandoned me. Mine and Aisha's family used to be neighbors. We used to play together in the park everyday so when Aisha's parents noticed that neither did I go to the park for two days nor did I go to school, they came to our place. The door wasn't even locked. When they found me, I was unconscious so they took me to the doctor. Guess what, I had fainted due to hunger. Aisha's parents never legally adopted me but they took me in. I realised Aisha was alone most of the time and she was more than happy to have a companion. Both of her parents were working. She lived with her grandma most of the time, whom she loved more than her parents. Her grandma used to tell us amazing stories and put us both to bed. I really loved her too. I had also noticed Aisha's love for art. Her grandma acknowledged it too. Aish had a knack for making art out of fabric..."

"Fashion designing." Li-Na whispered.

"Yes." Tasha continued the story. "But her father didn't encourage it. He didn't know much about the field and didn't think she'd make enough. He waned her to do a CA course, just like him. But her grandma didn't like the idea of her father's job being forced onto her. They had fights, her father and her grandma. Even Aisha had fights with her dad and mom. By the time, Aish was 13, they pretty much bickered all the time. Aish and I shared a room and each time, they had a fight, she came to me crying and me and her grandma would console her. One day, there was a phone call saying that I was legally supposed to be living in an orphanage until I was 18 and that Aisha's family had been forcing me to stay with them. There was a case and we lost. I had to go to an orphanage. IT WAS UTTER BULLSHIT." Tasha's eyes welled up as she said that last sentence. "Aish was left alone once again BUT she still had her grandmother. Well, say no more.

A few days after I left, her grandma passed away. On her 14th birthday. Her parents immediately came to the orphanage and begged them to let me go with them for a while. The orphanage agreed. After we came from the hospital, Aisha ran to her room and locked herself up. She didn't come out for a day. Aisha's parents decided to adopt me. I thought things would get better but we started to notice a few changes in her behavior. Like after having dinner, she'd ask for dinner or she'd get really uncomfortable infront of her parents and start hugging and kissing me. We took her to a phycologist. There, we got to know that she had multiple personality disorder and what it was. Usually, in a human brain, there's one box which contains all the information about their life, all the people they know and everything about them. But in case of Aisha, there were two boxes. One was Aisha, the other was Lennie, named after the doll her grandma got her."

"Why didn't you guys get her therapy?" Li-Na asked.

"Her therapy had been going on until last year. Aisha was getting suspicious of the fact that she had a disorder. We didn't want her to worry. She already and two personalities and none of us needed a third one. Lennie was like another human but in Aisha's body. When Lennie was asleep, Aisha was at work, but when Aisha was asleep, Lennie was at work. There was no specific time for her to be awake. We also later got to know that Lennie was bisexual. Lennie was in love with me because Aish had spent most of her traumatic time with me more than her parents."

"So, that's why she wanted to...?"

"Yes, Lennie had been genuinely irritated by you because Aish loved you more than anything, so she couldn't be with me because it was Aisha's body. She hated Jay because...you know. I loved him too. She also hated your stepmom.... because well..."

"Well?"

"She used to run the orphanage and due to some money factors, they had taken me back in.

"So, this Lennie.... She knows that Aisha exists?" Li-Na finally spoke up.
