Aley's P.O.V.

It was later in the evening that I was finally walking out of the coffee house. I had changed into my regular street clothes, it was nothing special just a pair of old ripped up jeans and a gray hoodie. It was sprinkling out as I walked myself to the front door, giving my shop one last look over before I pulled the door open as I pulled my hood over my head. I had my back to the street as I locked the door in front of me, my body jumping as I felt someone brush a hand against my hips, followed by a low chuckle.

"It's just me, you big chicken." A low voice whispered beside my ear, making me relax slightly.

"Hi, Leo," I mumbled as I pulled my hands away from the locked door before me. "I kinda forgot you said you were taking me out. I wish I had something nicer to wear."

Another chuckle followed as I turned to face him, with a small smile of my own. "You look fine." He held his hand out to me, his smile growing as he stared down at me. "Come on, let's go for a walk."

I just nodded my head as I took hold of his hand and together we walked down the street, letting our bodies lead the way. We walked together in a comfortable silence for a while before Leo finally broke our silence.

"I don't mean to be nosy, but your little brother may have said something to me after you disappeared into your office before we talked." He started out, making me look sideways at him. "He said something about an older sister and your curse taking her away from you two."

I sighed heavily, I should have known that this would have been brought up sooner or later. I just wasn't expecting my brother to be the one to spill the beans about Abi like that. It was at that moment that I found myself frozen, my hand tugging at Leo's to stop moving and that's where we stood. In the middle of the street, I watched as Leo walked over to stand in front of me. His hands shooting out to catch my face that was threatening to spill tears at the mere thought of my older sister.

"Forget about it, baby, I'm sorry." He whispered to me, pulling me to him, my hood of my hoodie falling with the movement.

I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts. "It's okay, it was hard and still kinda is. The guy had two soulmates as rare as it was he had two and one with an even more rare aspect to their string. He didn't even hesitate before picking the other girl even after my sister begged and pleaded with him. She was so scared to die, we were all scared. It wasn't until the day after she died that he tried coming by to get with her, but it was too late. And the worst thing about it all is that after we told him, he just laughed in our faces and left."

"I'm so sorry," Leo mumbled into my hair as he pulled me to him once more.

"For a while after that, I gave up looking for you," I answered in a low voice hoping he wouldn't hear me.

"I sadly never went looking for you." He breathed out. "I don't have room to judge."

I pulled away from him, looking up into his dull eyes as I laughed through a sob. "We're both idiots."

He grinned down at me. "We are."

I shook my head at him, with a smile as I reached up to wipe away the streaming tears from my face, making his smile widen as he too reached for my face. His voice carried as he pushed strands of my brown hair from my face. "See now there's my beautiful boyfriend."

I looked up at him a bit in shock. "Boyfriend?"

"Do I have to ask properly?" He questioned me.

I thought about it for a moment, should I make things difficult and tell him that he must, or should I just let it slide. Either way, I loved hearing the word from his lips and knowing that it was directed toward me. With a small smile, I shook my head. "No, you don't have to ask properly, you idiot."

"Good." He smirked down at me before brushing his lips against my own.

"So, this date you planned, what is it?" I asked, shooting him a smile.

Leo shook his head at me. "Oh, no, there's no way I'm telling you anything. It's a surprise, love." He was looking down at me with a smile but when he looked away from me, the smile dropped. His body stiffened slightly before he grabbed me and pulled me behind him. What was going on?

"What are you doing here David?" He growled.

I tiptoed slightly to look over Leo's shoulder, there standing in front of us was a man who could pull of a better look of Mr. Strong than the guy himself. The guy was in a muscle shirt and the shaved head made him a little more intimidating than the man protecting me. But the question was, who is he? And why is it that Leo was tense suddenly?

"You ran off rather fast earlier today." David laughed bitterly. "I just wanted to see where my baby brother ran off to."

Brother? Shit.

"Just hanging out with a friend," Leo answered; I finally knew what he was trying to do. I guess I was hoping for the same, maybe David wasn't around to see our little show of affection. If he was, I'm not so sure what Leo and I would do.

"Look's to be a little more than a friend if you ask me." He stated as he took a step forward forcing Leo to move us back a step.

What were we going to do? And then a thought hit me, my car wasn't too far from here and maybe, just maybe we could make a break for it. With that thought in mind, I tugged on Leo's shirt. "My car is just around the corner."

"I'm driving." He mumbled softly as David took another step forward forcing us back once again.

"What's wrong baby brother?" He asked with a twisted smile. "Is he that important to you? If he is, does that mean this scrawny beat-up stick is your soulmate? This is about to get fun."

Another step forward and another back as I fished out my car keys and gently pressed them into the palm of the male standing protectively in front of me. His hand closed around the keys before he pushed them back into my own and nudged me back further. By now we stood at the corner of the connected street and he pushed me slightly to the side, almost signaling me to go toward the car.

"Start it up." He mumbled before speaking to his brother. "And how is this supposed to be fun?"

David threw his head back in a laugh and I took my chances to slip away and run to the car. My feet slapped against the ground below as I fumbled with the keys in hand to unlock the car itself. The lights flashed as I was a foot away, now all I had to do was open my door, get in and then start the car.

"Aley, car now." I heard Leo yell a moment before I saw him bolting off around the corner and toward the car as I slid into the passenger seat.

I fumbled around, nearly dropping the keys before sticking them in the ignition and igniting the car to life just as the love of my life ripped open the driver door to slide in. Within seconds Leo hit reverse pulling out of the spot just as David reached the car, the drive gear was the next to be hit even as David ran out to stand in front of us. It was a standstill for a moment and I couldn't help but look away from David and to Leo. It was like I could see the wheels in his head turning as he debated on how to continue, but within those few seconds of thinking, he had made his decision. He stepped on the gas speeding off toward his brother who jumped out of the way at the last second.

Leo and I both let out a breath I didn't realize we were both holding.

"You okay?" I managed to say in a soft voice.

Leo sighed heavily. "I'm fine, you?"

"Shaken up but I'll live," I whispered to him as I reached out for his hand; right now I wanted nothing more than to take his hand in mine and hold it. I needed the touch, I needed to know that he was here with me. "Um, would it be okay if we skip the date and just go to my house?"

"Yeah." He breathed, squeezing my hand tight.
