Aley's P.O.V.

"Leo," I called out into the empty house as I walked through the front door, kicking it shut due to my hands being full. One hand held tight to our little-year-old baby boy we adopted only a week ago and the other hand held onto the diaper bag that came with the territory of parenthood. I looked at the cooing baby in my arms who latched onto me, his soft green eyes watching me. "Well, I wonder where daddy is?"

I pushed myself further into the house dropping the diaper bag off at the couch before shifting my son over to my other hip, his little whimpers heard as we got closer to the kitchen. Making my way toward his highchair, I put my little man down and littering his tray in his little baby crackers. Leo and I had both decided to adopt a baby that was a year old seeing as that's when they seem to show their personality more and so here we were with our pride and joy, Noah Scotts.

"Leo!" I called out again, walking over toward the cabinet to grab a little jar of baby food. "Leo Scotts, your wife and son are home, come to greet us."

I heard a low chuckle come from the entryway. "Yes sir, Mr. Scotts."

I turned to see my husband grinned at me before he pushed himself from leaning on the frame of the entryway to walk over to me. He wrapped his arms securely around my waist before leaning in to give me a soft kiss.

"What took you so long?" I questioned him as he pulled away to go say 'hi' to our son.

"Hey, buddy." Leo crouched down slightly to kiss the top of Noah's head. "Have you been good for your daddy?" Another kiss before he finally answered me. "I was getting your surprise ready and we really need to figure out what we're going to have him call us before he can talk. Calling us both daddy will get confusing after a while."

I chuckled softly. "Oh, don't distract me with an off-topic change, you have a surprise for me?"

Leo stood to his full height with a grin. "Got me there, by the way, mom and dad said they'd be by for dinner at around six tonight." He then picked up the child that reached out for him. "Give us a minute buddy and then you'll get some good food." Before leaving the kitchen, he grabbed the small bottle of baby snacks opening the lid only to give Noah a little cracker to nibble on. "Come on, Love."

I couldn't help but laugh at his excitement as he led me through the house. Together the three of us walked down the hall and into Noah's unfinished room, except it finally was finished. Light baby blue walls enclosed the room in a warm glow. Noah's name painted in black above his crib while little race car stickers lay scattered along the walls.

"Leo." I gasped. "This is beautiful."

"Finished it up just like you wanted." He told me. "Granted he's still in our room tonight. I don't want him breathing in the paint fumes all night."

I started over at my husband I've only had for ten months of our two-year relationship. "You're the best."

He grinned at me. "That's not all."

I cocked my head to the side. "You have more?"

"Here, take Noah." He handed me off our son. "Stay." And then he was gone tripping down the hallway to what sounded like our bedroom before coming back minutes later bearing a ball of fluff. He lifted the fluff ball to show off a wiggling puppy. "So, I figured Noah needed a friend to grow up with."

I shook my head, grinning at him. Of course, he would do something like this for our son. That was just the kind of man he was, and I loved him so much more for being the best father to our son.

"Haven't named her yet, I figured we could do that as a family." He grinned as we both put the babies to the ground, sitting down with them.

Noah sat down staring at the little husky puppy, and it at him, before she got up the courage to sniff him. As her wet nose touched Noah's cheek, he erupted into a fit of giggles and that was all the puppy needed before she attacked him in licks of affection. Her entire butt was shaking as she wagged her little tail, the little boy I loved so dearly laughing hysterically as the licks continued.

"I think he likes her." I giggled.

"And she likes him." Leo chuckled. "But why do I have the feeling he's going to love her more than us?"

"That's your fault." I laughed.

"Love you." He grinned, leaning over to kiss me as he wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him as we watched the scene play out before us. We were one big happy family and to think it was all due to the little blue string lay loosely around our ankles that connected us to one another.

"Love you, too," I whispered, leaning my head against his shoulder.
