Mia is less than pleased at the thought of it, but after drilling into Miranda and making her answer a hundred questions, she hesitantly permits Miranda to go through with her plan.
Very hesitantly.
"Are you sure it's safe?"
"Yes, I wouldn't harm my own daughter."
Mia doesn't really like the specificness of that statement but lets it go in the meantime.
"What if she gets hurt ?"
"She won't."
"But-"
"Mia I'm going to lose my mind and focus if you do not stop asking questions. Rose will be perfectly fine, and we'll have Eva back, and everything will be as it should."
Okay, Miranda says that, but she would be freaking out too if Mia was going to take some DNA from the daughter she gave birth to, to clone her and make a new daughter.
Just saying.
Mia hovers, because she's seen Miranda's work and some of it is pretty great, and others literally turn into zombies. Or psychotic seven-year-olds. Miranda's wings twitch, a clear sign of annoyance, and Mia ignores them as Miranda soothes their daughter who's being fussy because she wants her monkey toy.
("I don't know where it is!"
"Miranda. Light of my life. My angel. If she doesn't get that toy in the next two hours , we're never sleeping again. Find. It. "
"Why can't you find it?!"
"Because I'm keeping her from making a mess ! Now go!"
"Oh, my- whatever- can't believe I'm letting you boss me around-"
"What was that?"
" Nothing ."
" Uh-huh .")
Mia watched silently, and the tension was almost tangible between her and Miranda as she slowly, carefully, continued. Miranda stopped dead when Rose whimpered and removed all items from the area, picking her up and cradling her, soothing her, prioritizing her.
Mia gently brushed Mirada's wings with her hands, her way of silently apologizing for doubting her, for thinking even for a moment that she would even maybe hurt her daughter. Miranda's wings shifted towards Mia, and her wings were always more honest than herself Mia mused.
Once Rose deemed Miranda gave her enough attention she quieted down, seemingly entranced by her mother's jarringly blue eyes. Miranda carefully finished before gently picking her up and handing her back to Mia.
"That's it?"
"That's it." Miranda hummed, gently smiling at Rose's giggle of happiness at seeing Mia.
"Are you gonna process it now, or tomorrow?"
Miranda hesitated, as if at war with herself.
( She doesn't want to be near you )
Mia tensed, it had been a surprising hot minute since Eveline spoke to her. It only meant the Baker's weren't that far behind.
"....I'll do it tomorrow." she finally decided.
Mia smiled softly, doing her best to pretend as if she didn't have a dead child's voice ringing in her ears, and the three went to the makeshift living room. After many childish comments (from Mia) Miranda relented and got a real couch and not whatever she was living with before. Although, Mia would hardly call what Miranda was doing 'living' .
