Chapter 4

Miranda comes in like a storm.

This is exactly what Mia has been looking forward to since she heard her emotionally wreck some poor soul outside where Mia was being tended to.

Miranda also, does not take well to Ethan.

(It's ok, Ethan doesn't like her either, he suspects, he finally suspects, three years late.)

She's not very well put together and looks like she maybe only just put her hair up. It's not perfect like usual and Mia has the strange desire to do it for her because it just wasn't how it was done.

Mia decides to let the two stare at each other aggressively for a few moments more while she gathers the courage to just tell him. She forces herself to sit up.

Miranda is somehow there before Ethan and is helping her stand, and Mia can't resist latching onto her - it's Miranda.

(Feathers, remember the feathers~)

(It's not real, but her mind has always loved playing tricks on her.)

Ethan moves to take Mia from Miranda - which is honestly a bad move in all departments - and Miranda growls at him. Ethan - shockingly - growls back.

"I'm her husband."

"Ethan." Mia speaks up.

His head snaps to her.

"I cheated on you."

Miranda's grip on Mia tightens at the admission, and Ethan finally realizes. He looks - well it's not great, to say the least. He's probably as close to pure fury as Mia's ever seen him. Miranda is steadily on her way to crushing Mia in her possessive hold - jesus christ that hurts.

"You what?"

"Let. Go."

"I - no. After all of that? We can work through this, you can learn to love me again."

"Ethan-"

"We're made for each other-"

"Please!" Mia would probably be on the ground if it wasn't for Miranda's hold on her, and speaking of, she looks two seconds away from killing Ethan for upsetting Mia.

Ethan opens his mouth, but Redfield (Chris?) called for him. Ethan cursed before walking out, promising to return to talk about this more.

Things get interesting after that.

And by interesting - Mia means - heated. She turns around in Miranda's arms as quickly as she can and kisses her desperately, all she could think about (when aware of herself) was Miranda. The blonde kisses back and the two lose track of everything but each other.

"I love you too."

Mia is startled by the admission, the desperate energy - borderline manic - surrounds Miranda. Mia tears up, however, once she realizes what she's said to her. And she says it back, over, and over, and over again.

There is nothing that could ruin this for Mia.

"Wait, before we - before we do anything else I- I have to tell you something..."

Which is exactly what Mia gets for thinking that.

Mia pauses and looks at her dead-on.

"Are you going to mind control me and make me do despicable things?"
