24 || THE GAY AND LESBIAN DUO

THE FLOOR BEGAN TO do a very powerful shake which was enough to make each friend go crashing down onto the floor.

Riley lost his balance quickly, instantly falling down onto Eddie who was standing behind him. Eddie wasted no time in catching the boy and placing his arm around his waist before landing on the floor below.

Riley watched as Steve grabbed a hold of Nancy, preventing her from falling onto the rock. Robin then fell onto the ground beside Riley making his hand instantly shoot out to the girl's hand, which she immediately held back, whereas his other one was preoccupied with Eddie's.

"Oh my God." Riley mumbled as the ground continued to shake violently. Eddie tucked Riley's head deeper into his chest at the same time Robin tightened her grip on the boy's hand.

It didn't take long for the shaking to die out but everyone was still breathing heavily in panic. The sound of bats filled their ears, everyone's heads shooting over to the direction they heard them from only to see nothing.

Robin, Riley and Eddie all sat up although Robin and Riley never let go of each other's hands and Eddie's arm was still wrapped around the boy's waist.

"Yeah, so guns seem like a pretty good idea to me." Eddie told the group making Robin nod her head in agreement. "Yeah, me too."

"Me fucking three." Riley quickly added as the three now stood up from their places on the ground.

"You have very soft hands." The blonde woman informed Riley who turned to look at her with furrowed brows, due to him not expecting that comment.

"Just thought you should know." Robin smiled at the boy as he quickly glanced down at their hands before looking back up with a grin. "Your hands aren't too bad either."

"So, what are we waiting for?" Steve asked his friends who still seemed a bit shaken by what they had just experienced.

The trio watched as Nancy and Steve began walking away making them send glances at each other before quickly catching up.

Eddie and Riley walked side by side with their hands locked together as they continued their walk to their location.

Nancy and Robin were walking together not far in front of them but Steve was walking behind them by himself as he scanned the area with his flashlight.

"Eddie, Riley." Steve's voice spoke making the two turn their heads back and look at the boy. Steve slightly jogged to catch up to them before finally coming to a walk beside them.

"Hey, man, uhh...Listen, I just want to say thanks." The boy said, although he didn't get a response from either of the two as they just looked at him. "For saving my ass back there." Steve clarified.

"Shit. You saved your own ass, man." Eddie told the boy, Riley now nodding his head in agreement. "Yeah, should pat yourself on the back for that one, fucking hell."

"I mean, that was a real Ozzy move you pulled back there." Eddie told the Harrington boy who now pulled his eyebrows together in confusion. "Ozzy?"

"Yeah, Ozzy Osbourne." Riley told the Steve which only made him more confused. "When you took a bite out of that bat." Eddie added, but it was no use since he had no clue what they were talking about.

"Ozzy Osbourne? Black Sabbath? He bit a bat's head off onstage." The Munson boy informed Steve who only scratched his head.

"It was dead but—"

"I don't—"

"You know?"

The three boys said all at once making Eddie shake his head. "Doesn't matter."

"It's very metal, what you did. That's all I'm saying." Eddie told him with a small nod. "Thanks." Steve said with an odd look on his face.

"Hey, Riley." Robin's yell filled the air, making his head shoot up towards the girl whose face held a small smile.

"Can you come here a sec?" She asked making him turn to look at Eddie and Steve who seemed to be lost in conversation making him nod his head. "Uh, sure?"

Riley slowly ran up to Robin as he watched Nancy walk slower so she was now walking alone.

Robin looked back at Nancy to make sure she was far back enough before turning her head to Riley and began slightly whispering.

"How did you know that Eddie liked boys?"

The question took Riley off guard making him knit his brows together and turn to face the girl. "What?"

"Is there someone you like?" Riley now teased, noticing the small blush appear on her cheeks. "No. Well, I mean...Maybe?"

"Holy shit, really?" Riley asked with a small grin as he now quietly clapped his hands together. "Who?"

"It's Vickie, from band." The Buckley woman informed the boy. "What, the redhead?"

"Yes, the redhead." Robin nodded her head making him let out a little 'hm'. "I didn't." Riley finally told the girl making it now her turn to knit her brows together.

"What?" She asked, clearly confused by the response she had gotten. "I didn't know he liked boys."

"So, you like, kissed him without knowing if he even liked boys, like, at all?" Robin asked as she slightly stumbled into Riley.

"I mean, basically, yeah." Riley shrugged at the girl making her let out a deep groan. "Why does everything have to be so difficult?"

"Well, at least you've got me. I'm one of a kind." Riley smirked as he wrapped his arm around the girl's shoulder. "Nothing can beat a gay and lesbian duo!" Riley quietly yelled, making sure that the Wheeler girl who walked behind them couldn't hear.

Once again, just like before, the ground began to shake with a loud rumble. Turning his head back, Riley could see Eddie immediately lose his balance.

"Fucking again?" Riley yelled as he and Robin collided with each other and eventually crashed down onto the floor.

Riley pulled Robin into his chest, slightly, careful in case she somehow got hurt, although it wouldn't surprise him if she did.

"Okay, second on my list of least favourite things, earthquakes. Seriously I'm unsteady enough as it is." Robin told the boy who groaned in frustration.

"What the fuck is the point in this stupid earthquake, anyways?" Riley yelled before his eye caught sight of Nancy running away.

"Nancy!" The boy yelled, now quickly helping Robin off the floor and pushing her to follow Nancy before turning back to Steve and Eddie who continued to lay on the floor.
