Recorded Meeting: Special Forces Unit Discussion
Location: MCS Dawn, Briefing Room
Recording Start Time: 0900 Hours
Commander Arthur:
"Alright, everyone. Let's get this meeting started. I've been reviewing our current roster, and I've got something specific in mind for our next mission. This isn't going to be another standard deployment; it's a special operation, and we need a smaller, more specialized team."
Arthur glances over at Kaleb Bossac, who's sitting across the table, tapping his fingers thoughtfully on the surface.
Commander Arthur:
"Kaleb, Buck—what I'm thinking is we form a special forces unit for this mission. Something tactical, precise, and deadly. We've got the assets, but we need to be smart about who we pull in."
Kaleb nods, but Buck looks up with a raised eyebrow, his arms crossed.
Kaleb Bossac:
"A small, specialized team. Got it. Who do you have in mind?"
Arthur pulls a file from his desk and slides it over to both of them. The file opens with a photo of a young soldier, Jacob Carver, printed clearly on the front.
Commander Arthur:
"This is Jacob Carver. He joined the IMC at 17, right after the Demeter incident. He served a few deployments before his ship was shot down over the planet Holly. The Militia saved him, recruited him into the fold, and now he's part of the Marauder Core SRS. In two years, he went from grunt to Sergeant. Not bad, huh?"
Kaleb leans in, looking at the file with a raised eyebrow.
Kaleb Bossac:
"Survived the crash on Holly, got recruited by the Militia, and made Sergeant in two years... Pretty impressive for someone so young. He's got experience under fire, and he's survived some serious heat. Sounds like he's got the guts for it."
Buck:
"Yeah, but can he think on his feet when things get ugly? Special Forces isn't just about surviving battles. It's about decision-making, improvisation, and handling pressure. He's been with the IMC, but how does he stack up when it's our people he's fighting for? How does he handle Militia tactics?"
Arthur taps the file, then looks back up at the two men, his gaze hard and deliberate.
Commander Arthur:
"That's why I'm pulling him in. He's proven he can handle the pressure, and I need someone who can adapt. I've seen enough of him to know he's got the instincts we need. But this mission... this will be a real test for him. If he makes it, he'll be more than just a good soldier; he'll be someone I can count on in the future."
Buck nods, still skeptical but thoughtful.
Buck:
"Alright, so we're putting him to the test. Special Forces isn't just about being good in a fight. It's about working together as a unit, relying on each other when the shit hits the fan. We'll see if he can prove himself, but if he doesn't... well, we don't have room for failure."
Kaleb Bossac:
"He'll have to prove himself. Special Forces isn't a game. If he's not ready, we can't afford to carry him. But if he does... he'll be an asset. I'll make sure he's prepped."
Arthur leans back in his chair, his fingers steepled as he looks at the two men, fully aware of the gravity of the decision.
Commander Arthur:
"Exactly. We can't afford any dead weight on this one. I'll make sure he's fully briefed, and we'll see how he handles the real pressure of this mission. It's going to be high risk, and I'm expecting results."
Kaleb and Buck exchange a brief look, their expressions serious. After a moment, Kaleb gives a short nod, signaling his agreement.
Kaleb Bossac:
"Alright. I'll work with him. He's got potential, but we'll see if he can keep up when things get real."
Buck:
"If he's ready, he'll fit in. If not... we'll handle it. But I've got my eye on him."
Commander Arthur:
"Good. Alright, we'll bring him in for the mission briefing. Let's see if he's got what it takes to make it. We need people we can trust on this operation."
Arthur looks down at the dossier again, his voice calm but firm.
Commander Arthur:
"Let's get to work. Carver's in for the test. We'll know soon enough if he's one of us."
Meeting adjourned.
