New beginnings (Sequal to 1D adoption)

Chapter 13

I was in complete shock. I started shaking uncontrollably.
"Shh, Savannah it's going to be okay." Liam says.
"How is it okay?" I ask.
Everyone grew silent. I curl up in a ball and let the tears fall down. I feel a hand on my back, rubbing gently. I didn't move. I just sat there sobbing into my knees. Everyone was completely silent.
"Savannah you can beat this." Austin whispers in my name.
I shake my head.
"I can't." I cry.
"You can." Austin says.
I just shake my head no.
~Next day at school~
I don't want to go to school today. People will make fun of me because I am now bald. I shaved all my hair off because was just going to loose it all anyway. I walk to the bus stop with Austin and stand with Brenda.
"What did you do to your hair?! Brenda asks.
"Long story." I say.
Austin tells her that I have leukemia and why I shaved my hair off.
"Oh my god Savannah, I am so sorry." Brenda says.
"Don't be." I say.
The bus pulls up and we all get on. I sit next to Austin and Brenda sits in the seat next to us.
I start gazing out the window thinking. How am I going to fight this? Suddenly I feel a hand in mine. I look down and see that Austin intertwined our fingers. Butterflies start forming in my stomach and I just smile. Austin gently squeezes my hand and I squeeze back.
I look at him and he pats his shoulder signaling for my to rest my head. I rest my head on his shoulder and close my eyes.
When we get to school everyone would ask me why my hair is now gone. I tell them the reason and the all say 'I'm so sorry.' It feels good to know that some people I don't know very well care about me even violet but, she acted...different. She still had that same evil look in her eye that gives me the chills.
After I put me stuff in homeroom I find Austin with his 3 friends.
"Hi." I say.
"Hey." Austin says.
He smiles at me and I smile back.
"Ah hem are you going to introduce us to your girlfriend?" One of the boys ask.
"Oh, oh right, uh, Savannah this is Gabe, Sam, and Brannon." Austin says.
I say hi. Gabe has blonde hair that was gelled, and hazel eyes. Gabe seemed...innocent. He gives a gentle look. Sam has brown almost black hair, and brown eyes. He seems nice to me. Brannon has jet black hair, and gray eyes. He's...intimidating. He gives that stare that tells you to back off.
"Austin told us the story. We are all so sorry." Gabe says.
"It's fine you don't have to be sorry." I say.
The bell rings and I head to homeroom. This day is going to go great.

~Back at home~
I walk inside and I only see Harry on the couch watching tv.
"Hi." I say.
"Hey sweetie." he says standing up and coming over to hug me.
He lets go and looks me in the eyes.
"Are you ready to go?" He asks.
"Yes." I sigh.
I am going to get my chemo now. We leave and head to the hospital.
"How was school?" Harry asks.
"Good I guess." I answer.
"Did people keep.."
"Yes they did." I interrupt knowing he was going to ask me did people keep asking me about what happened to my hair.
"It's going to be alright." he says.
"Sure." I say and gaze out the window and watch buildings pass by.
Harry stayed silent after that. I noticed out of my corner of my eye Harry would look at me every once and a while.
We arrive at the hospital. Harry signed me in. I examine the room and I see adults and children all around the room. One small girl, maybe 6 was starring at me. Seeing her made me sick to my stomach. A 6 year old girl with cancer. I smile at her and she smiles back.
"Come on Savannah." Harry say taking my hand.
I follow Harry still looking at the girl. Looking at her more closely I see she has bright blue eyes. Her eyes looked...happy. I look away and sit down in my chair. A women comes over to me.
"Hi, are you Savannah."
"Yes." I answer.
"I am Nurse Henderson." She says sweetly.
She pulls out some things I have never seen before.
"Okay this is an P.I.C.C. Which is a peripherally inserted central catheter." She says pointing at an object in her hand.
I nod my head.
"I will tell you exactly what I am doing, please give me your left arm.
I hid out my left arm and she holds my arm gently.
"Okay this may hurt a little, please don't freak out and look away."
I follow instructions. She is putting at needle in my arm. I feel the pinch.
"Ow!" I screech.
"It's okay, I am all done." she says.
She stands up and smiles down at me. "You did great." She says and sits down next to me.
I was calm, trying not to freak out. I refused to look at my arm, I kept my eyes on Harry.
"So honey how is school going?" Nurse Henderson asks.
"It's going well." I answer.
No it's not. I think.
