Chapter 6

"Hey, are you dead?" I asked him.

Sinamaan lang ako nito ng titig, nagdadalawang desisyon ako kung gagawin ko ba 'to o hindi, pero sa tuwing napapasulyap ako sa kaniya ay nagui-guilty akong iwanan, I was thinking about just running away and tell people that someone is here, I sighed. Lumabas ako saglit para kunin 'yung nabagsak kong bag kanina, dinukot ko ang cellphone ko and looked for her number sa contact lists ko.

'She's the only person who can help us right now.'

"Who are you going to call?"

I looked at Liam straight in the eye.

"Trust me, we can trust this person."

"What? Tell me who—."

"Shhhh." I shut him up.

Pinindot ko na 'yung call, wala kaming mapupuntahan kung umaayaw siya sa lahat ng naiisip ko, nag-ring 'to ng ilang beses bago niya sagutin ang tawag ko, sinenyasan ako ni Liam na i-loud speaker ang tawag, to make it less complicated ginawa ko nalang din.

"H-Hello?" I don't know why I was nervous.

[Kyla? Napatawag ka?]

'Who's that?' Liam mouthed, I just bit my lip.

"Hey... m-mom?"

Liam's eyes widen, gusto niya sanang tumayo at mukhang gusto akong takbuhan but because of his injuries he couldn't do it, napapikit nalang ito ng mariin.

'You called your fucking mom?!' He whispered loud enough for me to hear.

"Mom? Are you still there?"

[O-Oh? I was just surprised since you called me 'mom' what is it anak?]

I smiled a little bit, but how should I explain this situation?

"Mom, I actually need your help right now, are you still at home?"

[Yes, bakit? Are you in trouble?]

I rather have myself in trouble in school than having to deal with this situation right now.

"I need you to pick me up here somewhere at the shortcut—."

[I told you to not go there.] Sabi ko na nga ba at sasabihin niya 'yan.

"Yeah mom, but this is an emergency and I can't fully explain the details right now, but we need your car and pick us up here."

[Is it really that urgent? But okay I'm going there, but can you please explain something while I'm here on the phone? I'm getting the car key.]

I sighed first before I talk.

"Mom please don't be surprised too much, I'm just helping..."

I looked at Liam na mukhang nag-give up na sa buhay, mukhang wala na siyang kaluluwa.

"...a friend, he was badly beaten by some gangsters outside the school but he can't go home nor have a place to stay, pero bawal din siyang mapunta sa hospital but there's no serious injuries, he's just weak at the moment, and I can't tell you the rest but please trust me mom." Mabilis kong paliwanag.

Sa totoo lang hindi ko alam kung nasabi ko ba ng maayos, binilisan ko kase ang pagsasalita, pero kung babagalan ko pa ay mas lalong mag-aalala si mom.
