Chapter 3

"What? You're actually going with us this weekend?"

My mom tried to hide her excitement, ngayon lang naman kase ako kusang nagsabi na sasama ako, gusto ko sana sabihin na hindi ko naman talaga gusto at pinilit lang naman ako ni Mathew, pero ayoko ring isipin niya na close kaming dalawa, plus nandito si Katie and she seems shocked as well.

"Bakit mo naisipang sumama? I mean, it's great! Of course, I want you to come." My mom was trying hard not to smile, but for some reason ay napangiti ako ng tipid, I'm glad my mom was happy for me.

"Since tapos naman na 'yung exams namin and I didn't get to come with you to the mall, I figured that I should go with you this weekend with Tita Deanne." I said as an excuse but I was half serious.

It's been a while, hindi ko na nakakasama si mom, even though I wanted to cut connections with my family, I think it is still best if I don't entirely do it, mas maganda na siguro kung may masasandalan man lang ako.

"Your Tita Deanne will be thrilled to see you!"

"Yeah, it's been a while since I've last seen her."

Mukhang maganda rin naman kung mangamusta man lang ako.

Around 1:20 AM I was still awake combining my SSG works and my homework slash studying, hindi ko alam bakit hindi ko mabitawan 'yung mga gamit ko, I still think I needed to do something before I go to sleep, kung hindi gumawa ng school task ay mag-organize ng gamit ko, but it makes my eyes feel dry again, kakapalit lang ng grado ng salamin ko, it wouldn't be great to hear na tumaas nanaman.

Maya-maya ay narinig kong may kumatok sa kwarto ko, I stopped in the middle of whatever I was doing and reached for the doorknob to unlock it, napakunot ang noo ko nang makitang si Katie pala ang kumatok.

"What changed your mind? Bakit gusto mo biglang sumama sa sabado?" Agad nitong bungad sa'kin.

Seriously? She went into my bedroom just so she could ask that. Napailing ako.

"I just want to, now go back to sleep—." I was about to close my door but she immediately stopped it with her arm.

"Hey!---"

"Shhhh! What the heck Katie? What if mom wakes up?"

"Bakit nga gusto mong sumama sa sabado?"

"Why? Eh gusto ko sumama, bakit ba?!" I'm glad I controlled my voice.

"You're not the type of person who will voluntarily come with something like this, do you perhaps want to—."

"I already know what you're about to say, and the answer is no, I'm bringing my school stuff and study in one of the rooms in the rest house okay?"

When she was distracted by her own thoughts ay agad ko nang isinara ang pinto, what's up with her? Bigla nalang siyang pumunta sa kwarto ko for that? I was beginning to get worried about Katie, hindi ko alam kung seryoso ba siyang may gusto kay Mathew, but it seems like she is, I sat down on the chair at hinilamos ang mukha ko, I don't know what's going on, hindi ko alam kung tama ba na nagdesisyon akong sumama sa sabado, if it wasn't because of that guy hindi naman talaga ako sasama eh, but for some reason hindi rin ako makatanggi.

I stopped myself from thinking about those stuff at bumalik na sa school works ko, but thankfully I get to finished it before 3:00 AM, nang bumigat na ang mga mata ko, humiga na ako sa kama at duon na nga ako nakatulog, and even though I slept around 2:30 ay medyo— medyo lang, na maganda ang mood ko dahil sa mahaba for me ang tulog ko ngayon, but I still think I need to sleep more.
