It was a wonderful night , new year was just a few minutes away.
Everyone was getting ready to celebrate.
And so did Koyuki and her husband Hakuji

Hakuji promised Koyuki as soon that she feels better they will watch the new years fireworks together.
And here they were , eating some sweets while waiting for the new year to arrive.
"I'm so happy that we are here!" Koyuki said and took another bite of her chocolate muffin.
"Me too, and I'm so glad that you aren't sick anymore", Hakuji said with a smile and watched over his wife , making sure to keep her safe. 

"Say , don't you want to eat something love?" Koyuki asked worried ,she hasn't seen him eating the entire day so she was worried that he might fade away from not eating enough.
"Here , have a bite!" She said before Hakuji could even answer to her question.
Hakuji found it very sweet how she cared for him so he took a small bite of her sweets.

"Do you like it?" She asked with a smile , Koyuki made the muffins by herself when she was home because she didn't want to spend much money for being sweets at the new year anniversary.

"Yes, it taste amazing" Hakuji said and gave her a small kiss on the cheek,
Koyuki felt how her cheeks heated up a bit and a small reddish tone was seen on her cheeks.

"Look at the time , only 2 minutes left! I am so excited to celebrate with you new year!" Koyuki said as she looked over to a time counter that was standing in the middle of the plaza.
Hakuji only laughed softly.
Koyuki loved hearing his laugh , she already fell in love with his laugh when she heard it at the day they met.
She felt so safe around him and she knew that nothing is going to destroy they're relationship.

She also found herself tracing his tattoos with her fingers.
Koyuki didn't listen to people that said he looked like a criminal with these tattoo's.

People began to count from 10 to 0 ,
And so did Hakuji and Koyuki,
Hakuji put an arm around her waist and laid his head against hers softly.

Hakuji and Koyuki smiled at eachother brightly,.

The strangers began to cheer

Some people started to get ready to lit up the fireworks right at the time.

Koyuki felt so happy ,it was they're first new year anniversary together.

Akaza woke up , being in his room.
Alone.
Being a demon, without his beloved wife.
He realised it was that one dream.
That one dream that is haunting him and Isin't leaving alone this night as well.
He felt how his eyes got teary.
He doesn't quite understand that his wife and the promise were the only things he could remember from his human being.

Tears streamed down his cheeks,
It's one of these nights where he would blame himself for not being able to protect her and not being there for her.
For looking like a criminal.
For breaking a promise.
For losing his wife.
For not being a good husband.

He often had these kind of dreams.
He's already used to it but it still makes him want to yell at himself and cry out loud.

He wishes he could bring her back to life Just to tell her that his sorry for not being what she maybe expected him to be.
