Just A Dream (book 1)

The hospital

Robin nodded to Raven in approval. Everyone rushed out of the building. Robin had Myra in his arms, starting to run. "Robin, I can teleport us faster than you can run. Run through the portal." Before Robin, a swirling, black portal opened. He ran through and was immediately in the hospital. But, it wasn't a normal hospital. Heroes of all kinds where here, some with broken bones or with healing days. A lady from the front desk ran over to Robin. "What happened to her?" She said kindly rushed. " She has some broken ribs, a bullet in her shoulder and alot of cuts. She has also been starved for a week." The lady nodded her head and motioned for a stretcher to be brought over. "We will have her taken care of. How old is she?" Myra was wheeled off on the stretcher. "She is 15." Robin replied. "Well, then we will need a legal gaurdian here to sign and fill out paperwork." She said picking up a clipboard. She handed it to Robin. "Bruce is on his way here at the moment." The lady looked at Robin with a confused look. "Bruce as in Bruce Wayne? Batman doesn't have any children." Robin looked the lady in the eyes. "Do you know who that girl is? That is Myranda Tallsey, Bruce took her in after her parents were killed." The lady put her hand over her mouth in shock. People around them that had overheard the conversation looked at them with pity in their eyes. "I'm so sorry." She managed to get out. Right then, Bruce Wayne burst through the hospital doors. "Where is she." panic was written on his face. Even though Myra wasn't his daughter, he had raised her as his own. "You will have to wait Mr. Wayne. The doctors are doing everything they can." The lady said before walking off.

Everyone was in Myra's room. She was still sleeping, and finally looked peacefull. "This wouldn't have happened if I was stronger...." Robin said quietly. "There was nothing more you could do, Robin. As long as you tried your hardest, everything will be forgiven." Starfire trued to comfort him. "Please... Mom... Dad.... No!" Myra sprang up in the bed, cold sweat dripping off her face. Bruce ran over to her side. "Are you alright baby?" He cupped her cheek in his hand. "Him." She looked straight forward. "Who is he?" Bruce said, worry growing in his eyes. "The Shadow Reaper. He killed my parents. And now, he wants me." She disconnected all of the tubes and wires that where on her. "What are you doing?" They all asked her as she stood up from the bed and ran out of the room.
