"My lady, your father is awaiting." One of the many maids entered the princess's room. "I'll be down in a minute." Jennie announced, which resulted into the maid bowing and leaving the room.
She looked one more time in the mirror and smiled lightly. She rotated and made her way out of the room. The princess went down the stairs gracefully and opened the door of the throne room.
"Good evening, father." Jennie bowed to his parent, who was sitting on his throne. "Ah! My daughter. Finally, you've come." The king said happily. Jennie felt somehow uneasy about her father's tone, but brushed off the feeling easily.
"This is sir Kim, the knight that had saved my life in the war." He respectfully pointed at the man, which was standing on pillow. Next to him, there were two more people. A woman and a boy. The respective boy seemed to be around Jennie's age.
"Nice to meet you!" Jennie bowed with respect at the older man. The knight bowed as well and looked back at his king. "For his courage and loyalty towards his king, I've decided to grant him a wish." The king started, which grabbed everyone's attention.
"He wanted to marry off his son. Someone with such honor and respect deserves to marry his son to a nice lady. So I've decided to accept his offering and marry you to his son." Jennie's dad announced, which made the young maiden feel a little stressed.
She wanted to complain, but she knew that she wasn't allowed to. Her father wouldn't be pleased if she did so. She was afraid of marrying someone she doesn't know at all. A stranger. The boy looked at her and smiled viciously. Jennie knew what was awaiting for her, and that couldn't be good.
"You and your fiancé can go and talk for a while. Me and Mr Kim have some talking to do." Her father announced, which made the two youngsters leave the throne room. Both of them were very quiet for a while. Well, at least until the guy opened his mouth: "We've brought you a gift."
Jennie was somehow surprised at the boy's words. But then she remembered that she gets hundreds of gifts every day, by men who are interested in marrying her. Of course, she declined all of them. Well, until now. "What is it?" She asked politely.
"It's a personal shoemaker. The best in the kingdom. You'll love her work." The guy complimented, which made Jennie a little curious. "Her?" The young princess asked, intrigued. "Mhm. Her name is Rosé, if I am not mistaken."
Jennie was intrigued. She has never met a female shoemaker, and now she has a personal one. "You see... I might not seem like it, but I am very glad that I get to marry such beautiful and astonishing woman like you." The boy started, which made Jennie quite surprised.
There was a little moment of silence. "It feels unusual to me. "The young princess said. "How so?" Her fiancé was curious. "I don't even know your name, yet we are almost to get married." Jennie reasoned.
"Well, in that case... Good evening, my dear princess. My name is Kim Jongin. It is a pleasure to meet you!" The guy playfully bowed in front of the young maiden. Jennie let out a small giggle, before playing along. "It's my pleasure, Kim Jongin! I am Kim Jennie." She did a curtsey to complete the act.
Eventually, both of them bursted out laughing at their own silliness. "Your Highness, your sister has arrived." One maid announced, making the two jump out of surprise. "Seriously?" Jennie asked the maid, who was waiting in front of them. "Yes, Your Highness."
"I'm very sorry, Jongin. I have to go, but we can continue this discussion anytime later." Jennie bowed and left in a hurry. Her fiancé didn't get a chance to say anything, being left all alone in the big hallway.
