Chapter Eight

Three days before the wedding...

A loud bang was heard on the young princess's door. She sat up from her seat and made her way to the door. She opened it and was surprised to meet two guards sitting in front of her. Without any words, she was aggressively grabbed by the two and got dragged out of the room. "Let me go! I said let me go! If my father hears about this, you'll be doomed!" The princess threatened, but with no use.

She kept on hitting the two and trying to escape, but she couldn't. Eventually, she reached the throne room. She was tossed inside and the door closed shut behind her. After she put herself together, she looked around the room, only to meet her father's bloody gaze. She also observed that her mother, her cousin Lisa and her sister Jisoo were there. She found the view strange, but she brushed off any feeling once she saw her girlfriend laying on the floor unconscious.

"Rosé!" She ran towards the girl, but got stopped by her fiancé who appeared from nowhere. "Let me go!" Jennie tried to fight back, but Kai was a little too strong for her. "Silence!" The king shouted which actually made the whole room enter a deafening silence. "Kim Jennie. Is it true that you and this peasant have been doing not only disgusting actions, but have been acting as a couple?" The king spoke loud and clear. Jennie's heart stopped for a second. How did they... Jennie thought as she looked at her cousin, who had a small, yet evil smile. Lisa...

"Is it true!?" The king lost control for a second. The young princess cleared her throat and sat properly. "No, father. Nothing of that kind had happened between me and my private shoemaker. I do not know how those kind of words have gotten to you, but I can assure that they are under any circumstances untrue." Jennie spoke loud and clear, making the king feel a little at ease. "How can I trust your words?" Her father asked. "Because, father, I am your daughter and as you very well know that I would never do such things!"

The king was silent for a second, before speaking up again: "The daughter of my brother, your cousin Lisa, told me that she saw you and your shoemaker sleep together and even kiss. What can you say for yourself?" Jennie was panicking on the inside, but on the outside she kept her calm with a steady expression. "The words of my cousin are untrue. I have not done any of those actions. I am in love with Kai and no person can come in the way." Jennie perfectly lied, convincing the king.

"So shall be it! Guards, take this liar out of my face and put her in the dungeon." The king ordered, making the guards act fastly. Lisa tried to scream and tell that Jennie was lying, but nobody listened to her. "May I ask what happened to her?" Jennie said as she pointed at Rosé, who was still laying on the floor. "She is still alive. She should wake up any time soon. Someone, take her back to her room." The king order, making two maids jump right into action.

"You may all leave." The king said, making the three youngsters leave the throne room. After the door closed, they all let out a big sigh. "I knew you weren't that type of person." Kai said proudly. Jennie only replied with a fake smile. "But why did Lisa do this to you?" Jisoo asked. "I am not sure, but I have to guess that it is because of our marriage." Jennie responded, making the two shape their mouths into O's.
